1. Hyderabad – Zaheerbad – Gulbarga – Bagalkot – Belgaum – Mollem – Goa

This road takes around 14 hours, running across NH 65 and NH 50, covering 680 kilometers (422.5 miles) between Hyderabad and Goa. Over this route, you can find some interesting historical marvels like the Buddha Vihar, Gokak Falls, Gulbarga fort, Lad Khan Temple and Badami caves among the few. If you book a car and have an additional two to three days to spare, then this route might give you a chance to explore these additional delights.

2. Hyderabad – Mahbubnagar – Raichur – Sindhanur – Dharwad – Anmod – Goa

Ideally, this route also takes around 14 hours on the road to cover the distance from Hyderabad to Goa. The route moves along the NH 44 and 167 and covers around 652 kilometers (405 miles). En route, usually, tourists stop at Syntheri Rock, Dudhsagar Falls, Anjaneya Temple, Gadwal and Raichur Forts for a quick glimpse. However, these small detours can be avoided.


3. Hyderabad – Mahbubnagar – Kurnool – Ballari – Hospet – Hubli – Dharwad – Goa

Since this route tries to cover the distance in 15 hours, most tourists do not prefer this way. But, if you are yet to explore the mystical Hampi ruins, then this route may provide a happy detour for you.

You can also cover the Hyderabad to Goa distance via bus. There are several private and state-owned operators running A/C Sleeper and A/C Seater buses between the two cities. Tickets cost around INR 900 to 1,000. Overall, these buses can take around 14 to 16 hours to cover the distance.


Some Helpful Tips for Hyderabad to Goa Road Trip

• Pack enough water and snacks in the car as the chances of locating any decent places to eat are bleak.

• Another helpful tip, do keep a copy of the map to avoid navigation issues caused due to GPS losing network. Also, always carry fully charged power banks for emergencies.

• If unwanted detours slow you down, then take a halt to recharge your batteries. Belgaum and Gulbarga are ideal places for such overnight stays. These locations have good hotels and eateries.

There are two popular trains from Hyderabad to Goa that takes around 16 hours to complete the trip. They are:
