Delhi Metro Line 1 – Red Line

In December 25, 2002, the first phase of Delhi metro red line, Shahdara – Tis-Hazari section, started to operate. Now, it starts from Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) station to Rithala station, covering 29 stations, with the total distance of 34.4 km (21.4 mi). Some new stations are under construction. Red line connects Ghaziabad with Delhi.

Minimum single way ticket fare for Line 1 is Rs 10, and maximum cost is Rs 60.

Surroundings near Main Stations

Around Inderlok station, there are many Muslim or Hindu temples. For example, people can visit Inderlok Nakki Jama Masjid, Mohammadi Masjid or Nag Mandir. If you interchange at Kashmere Gate, Kashmiri Gate and Hanuman Mandir are absolutely worth visiting. For Christians, you can have a look at St. James’ Church. People can also go to Monastery Market to go shopping. When you get out from Shahdara station, Shivaji Park is a good place to take a walk. As for Rithala station, there is a popular amusement park nearby named Adventure Island. Many local Indian family will bring their children here to enjoy a nice weekend.
