6 Short Treks in Nepal You Should Not Miss

Nepal is a fascinating landlocked country encompassed by the mighty mountain ranges. Given the unique topography of the region, one of the best things to do in Nepal is trekking. Many tourists visit the country primarily because of the wide variety of trekking trails that the country has to offer.
From easy to strenuous, short to long, low to high altitude treks, you will find a plethora of options of trekking Nepal.

Think Before You Trek

However, before taking a plunge into the Himalayas, here are some questions you should be completely clear in your mind:

• Short treks in Nepal are conducted for a week or ten days at the most. Before you plan, think about the number of days you can invest in your trek.
• Sometimes these treks, even the shorter ones, can be quite challenging. Discuss about the difficulty level before actually booking for the dates.
• The treks will be remote - understand how far you can go with the isolation.  Some short treks in Nepal can be incredibly distant, but others are relatively commercialized. Understand that there are little chances of getting luxury lodges or upmarket accommodation.
• Some treks can be costly; find out how much you want to spend on the trek.
• Pick the right season for trekking to enjoy the most. Most treks in Nepal are conducted between September to November and March to May.
• Some treks have restricted permits; so plan accordingly if you want to travel alone or in a group. Most of the time, you will need a guide for the trek.
