Best Time to Visit

The trains are operated all year round, but the best season is from May to September, when the sceneries along the road are the most beautiful and day time lasts very long, passengers are travelling through the endless blue sky, the white clouds, grasslands and forests.
The snow scene is also an illusion, but all passengers needs to prepare warm clothes.

Some passengers prefer to visit Russia from Ulan-Ude station, then it’s better to purchase the tickets in sections, for example, from Ulaanbaatar to Ulan-Ude and then another section from Ulan-Ude to Irkutsk and then to Moscow. For passengers who only have a stopover in Ulan-Ude, they can get off here to buy some snacks or supply here. The train station is a building with blue appearance with a small shop inside, please double check with the conductor how long the train will stay here to make sure you can get on train in time.

What to expect in two cities in Russian?

Ulan Ude is the capital of the Republic of Buryat in the Russian Federation, and it is the third largest city in East Siberia built in 1666, from a small village to city. Travelers can experience the combination of building style of China, Mongoloa and Russian.

For the Trans-Siberia train route, one of the most famous scenic sports is Baikal. Irkutsk is located in the south end of Baikal, it is the nearest city to Baikal Lake. For those who would like to take a close view to this beautiful lake, they can get off here.
