August is the off season of tourism in Thailand because of rainy weather, but for people who do not like crowds, it can be a good month to travel to Thailand.

Bangkok
Situated in the heart of Bangkok, Siam Square is the favorite gathering place for young people and the most famous shopping center in Thailand. There is a stage in the center of the square, where various shows and small concerts take place. It is totally a shopping paradise for shopaholics; they can shop in many malls like MBK center, Banglamphoo shopping district and Panthip electronic center.

As for backpackers from all over the world, Khao San Road is the top place they would like to go in Thailand. This road are full of cheap hotels, small restaurants, bars, and tattoo shops. And the nightlife of this street is very colorful.

You can also visit the Amphawa Floating Market, which is the most interesting afternoon water market in Thailand not over commercialized yet. While visitors are appreciating the beautiful scenery of floating market, they can also enjoy another great view- swarms of fireflies. Travelers who come here can rent a small boat and shake their boats along the river bank to enjoy a large group of sparkling fireflies. The market only opens in weekends.

Chiang Rai
The most famous attraction in Chiang Rai is White Temple and Black Temple. The former is so dazzling white and inspires all good imaginations; the latter represents hell and death. Both temples are magnificent.
