Polonnaruwa

Located on the northeast of Sri Lanka, it is famous for the numerous ancient relics and splendid inventions of architecture, art and religion. This city has the same historical status with Ancient City of Anuradhapura but has the different style and layout.

Tourists can visit The Royal Palace to feel the glory of previous dynasty. Vatadage is the most unique and exquisite architecture in the city, which was the place of pray and meditation by royals. People should take off shoes to enter the stupa. Gal Vihara has four Buddha statues, which show the excellent ancient rock carving art in Sri Lanka and you can feel the solemn atmosphere here. Lankatilaka is another place worth visiting. It is a Buddhist temple with 17-meter height, next to the Royal cemetery. You will marvel at the magnificent carvings on the wall.

Batticaloa

As an east coastal city, it is divided into many parts by the sea and there are many beautiful beaches for your choice. These beaches are less commercialized than other hot beach destinations and you can enjoy the charming sea scenery.

Trincomalee

It is a port city in northeastern Sri Lanka, owning one of the largest and most beautiful natural harbors in the world. Trincomalee has numerous small bays and islands along the coastline. You can enjoy the charming beaches here with delicate and soft sand, and visit the oldest Hindu temple in the city.

Yala National Park

Located on the southeastern Sri Lanka, it is famed for diverse rare wildlife. It is the most popular national park in Sri Lanka. People can watch groups of deer, peacocks, wild boars and so on. It is also recognized as the densest leopard population in the world. There are two areas open to the public; the best time to visit here is around the dawn or dusk.

You can also go to the central city in Sri Lanka like Kandy, Sigiriya and Dambulla. They are all rich in historical highlights and were listed in the World Cultural Heritage Sites.
