What to Wear

It is recommended that tourists could wear light clothes such as cotton T-shirt, shorts, skirt and dress when traveling to Cambodia in September. However, it is pretty cool at night because of the relatively large temperature difference. Therefore, thin sweater, jacket and jeans is necessary to keep warm in raining days and at night. Since it rains for a long time in September, do remember bring an umbrella or a raincoat with you when traveling outside. Last but not least, it is best to wear climbing shoes or sneakers, and women should better not wear high heels.

September is one of the best months for travelers to go to Battambang, it is the second largest city in Cambodia. There are many small temples scattered all over the place, which mainly at Wat Ek Phnom Temple, 8 kilometers north of the city center on both sides of the river. Wat Banan Temple is located only 25 kilometers south of Battambang and is a pocket-sized Angkor Wat. Locals claim Angkor's most famous temple was inspired by it. Battambang Museum (US $ 1 for admission; Monday to Friday 8 ~ 11am and 2 ~ 5pm) have been repaired and are opened to tourists again. There are very attractive but few carved lintel stones, and an interesting lintel stone of Mahayana Buddhism in the post-Balon era.

Phnom Penh has less rainfall than other western cities in September, it is also a best place to visit. It is an ancient cultural city with many historic sites and scenic spots such as Royal Palace, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, National Museum of Cambodia, Killing Fields of Choeung Ek,etc.
