Ten Parks in Universal Studios Japan

1. Super Nintendo World

It is one of the most popular parks in Universal Studios Osaka, and you can explore the huge park with Mario. The Power Ring makes you indulge in the adventure. Beyond that, 1 Up Industry sells a variety of Mario merchandise, like hats, key chains, pens, and throw pillows.

2. The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter

If you are a fan of Harry Potter, come here without hesitation. The park has a replica of the castle in the movie. Flight of the Hippogriff and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey are the two unmissable entertainment projects. Besides, you can taste hot butterbeer in Three Broomsticks.

3. Minion Park

Cute Minion characters will accompany you to explore the park. Freeze Ray Sliders allows you to drive on the ice to avoid the frozen laser gun of Minion. In the Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem activity, the huge round screen plays the Minion movie, and you can ride a flying car to interact with Minion.

4. Universal Wonderland

Universal Wonderland is a huge park for families, providing 19 entertainment facilities and activities, and you can take photos with huge pink Hello Kitty and conduct a movie by yourself in Snoopy's movie studio. Beyond that, it also provides water activities, bumper car activity, and carousel activity.

5. Hollywood

The park shows the Hollywood Boulevard street in 20th century, and exciting flying car activities keep you screaming, like Hollywood Dream-The Ride, The Ride: Backdrop, Space Fantasy - The Ride. 

6. New York

The park takes you back to the streets of 20th century in New York, allowing you to stroll in the gorgeous Fifth Avenue and busy Delancey Street. Furthermore, you can take a picture of the landmark “The Earth” and a picture with Minions and Snoopy in 42nd Street Studio: Greeting Gallery.

7. San Francisco

It is a good choice to have a break in the ornate restaurants and appreciate the view of Fisherman's Wharf and China Town. Besides, you can learn about the process of making movie special effects here.

8. Jurassic Park

The huge and scary dinosaurs hiding in the thick jungle are waiting for you. You can take Jurassic Park- The Ride activity to face these giant dinosaurs in the raging river. When you encounter the tyrannosaurus, the boat will fall 25.9 meters (84.9 feet) to escape capture. In addition, the Flying Dinosaur activity will take you up into the sky.

9. Amity Village

Amity Village is the theme park based on the horror movie “Jaws”, and you can see the huge shark model. As the boat is calmly sailing on the water, the fierce giant white shark suddenly appears. In the 7 minutes of sailing, you will experience an exciting water ride to avoid the ferocious sea creature.

10. Water World

The 20-minute Water World performance is worth seeing, and you can appreciate the abundant water stunt performance.  

Opening Time

It is generally open from 8:00 to 22:00. However, open hours are subject to change without prior notice. Please reconfirm the time before going. In addition, it is possible to enter before the announced opening time. 

Ticket:

The fee is different on different dates and it is advisable to book your tickets as early as possible to save money and in case the on-site tickets are unavailable. You can buy tickets from the official website of Universal Studios Japan or some authorized travel agencies. There are two kinds of tickets, one is ordinary pass tickets and the other is express tickets.

Notes:
1. Adult ticket is for those above 12 years old; child ticket for those aged 4-11 and senior ticket for those over 65 years old. 
2. A 1.5-day ticket allows you to enter the park after 15:00 on the first day, and play all day on the second day. 
3. The ticket price is subject to change. 

Express Ticket

Express tickets can save you time from waiting in line to a great extent, and there are different express tickets for different facilities and activities. Express Ticket 7 means you can select 7 seven different activities to cut down waiting time. Express Ticket 4 is divided into different types, based on the different combos of 4 activities. You can choose a proper express ticket according to the activities you like.

Tips: 

1. Download the Official app of Universal Studios Japan to help you quickly locate your position, know about the show schedule, and forecast queueing time. 
2. The number of visitors from mid-June to mid-July is relatively small.
3. If you do not plan to buy an express ticket, arrive at the Universal Studios as early as possible to wait in line. Some hot activities may require queuing time of nearly two hours. 
4. Universal Studios provides free Birthday stickers, and if you bring stickers, the cartoon characters will actively interact with you.
5. Many souvenirs and products sold at Universal Studios Japan are tax refundable. Take your receipt and goods, and you can get a tax refund at STUDIO GIFTS at the exit with your passport. Tax refunds are available from 14:00 to 22:00.
6. There are long lines for tax refunds near closing time, so you can buy goods in advance in the morning and get your tax refund at noon.

How to Get to Universal Studios Japan

From Tennoji Station or Osaka Station

You can take JR Osaka Loop Line, and change to JR Yumesaki Line at Nishikujo Station, then get off at Universal City Station, which takes about 13 minutes.

From Namba Station

You can take the Hanshin Namba Line Line, and change to JR Yumesaki Line at Nishikujo Station, then get off at Universal City Station, which takes about 15 minutes.

From Osaka Itami Airport

You can take a Limousine Bus, and get off at Universal City Station. The single way takes about 45 minutes.

From Kansai International Airport 

You can take a Limousine Bus, then get off at Universal City Station, which takes about 70 minutes. Besides, you can take the JR Hanwa Line at Kansai Airport Station, and change to JR Yumesaki Line at Nishikujo Station, then get off at Universal City Station. The whole single way takes about 65 minutes.

Travel Advice 

After having fun at Universal Studios Japan, you can take the Capital Line from Universal City Port and get off at Kaiyukan West Pier, which takes about 10 minutes. Then you can interact with cute marine organisms in Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan around the Kaiyukan West Pier and Port of Osaka. Next, you can ride the adjacent Tempozan Ferris Wheel to overlook the view of Osaka Bay and enjoy the Osaka snack in the nearby Namba Food Street. Beyond that, taking the Santa Maria Cruise to appreciate the view of Osaka Bay and the sunset during the dusk is an enjoyable thing.
