Shinsaibashi, consisting of Shinsaibashi Shopping Street, West Shinsaibashi and Eat Shinsaibashi, is a high-end shopping street in Osaka, like Ginza in Tokyo, Champs-Elysees in Paris. Besides, Amerikamura is another hot place in Shinsaibashi, and you can find many record stores and experience the style of American music there.

Shinsaibashi Shopping Street crosses eight blocks and gathers abundant stores from restaurants, cosmetics stores, to clothes stores. The north and south ends of the shopping street are dominated by large department stores and clothing stores, and in the middle of the street, you can enjoy a good meal. Shinsaibashi Shopping Street

Food Stores:

 Ujien: A notable dessert store where you can taste authentic Japanese matcha shaved ice and varied desserts. Besides, you can try to make matcha on your own. Some staff in the stores can speak English and it is open from 10:30 to 20:00.
 
 Genrokusushi: It is a famous revolving sushi chain restaurant in Japan, and you can enjoy a variety of sushi. A plate of sushi costs about 125 yen. It is open from 11:15 to 22:.00 during weekdays, and from 11:00 to 22:00 during weekends and holidays.


Cosmetic Stores:

 Supature: A well-known tax-free store that sells varied cosmetics, foods, and pharmaceuticals. The space of the store is relatively bigger than other cosmetic stores in the street. You can find any cosmetics here. It is open from 10:00 to 22:00.

 SUN DRUG: It is a cheap drugstore where you can buy cosmetics at a low price. However, the type of product is not abundant, and you may only find some famous cosmetics. It is open from 10:00 to 20:00.

 The Daiso: A chain store where you can find abundant products each at about 100 yen. The store covers three floors that display foods, medicines, cosmetics, and daily necessities. It is open from 10:00 to 20:00. 

 LUSH: The handmade cosmetics are the features of the store. These products are made of vegetables, fruits, and essential oils, bringing no harm to human body. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00.


Clothes Stores:

 Onitsuka Tiger: Professional and comfortable sneakers are sold in the store. The design combines the Japanese traditional factors and latest fashion elements. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00.

 WEGO: It is a fashion vintage second-hand clothing store. The store is loved by the young group, and you can buy a variety of high-quality clothes at a low price. It is open from 10:00 to 22:00. 

 UNIQLO: A famous Japanese chain store that mainly sells casual clothing. Even though the place where you live may have some UNIQLO stores, you can find more variety of clothes here. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00.

 Samantha Thavasa: A popular store that sells a wide range of stylish handbags and the brand is called “Chanel of Japan”. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00.

 
Tip: January and July are the big discount seasons, and you can buy a variety of products at rock bottom prices.

Explore Amerikamura 

Located on the west of Shinsaibashi Shopping Street, Amerikamura is a notable cultural area that reflects the fashion trends of Japanese youth. The walls painted with colorful patterns are the symbol of the area. If you are a music fan, the countless second-hand albums and new titles will keep you hooked. In the center, Triangle Village Park, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the colorful music performances shown by Japanese youth. Besides, American-style clothes are largely sold here, especially jeans.

From other places in Osaka

1. Take Osaka Metro Midosuji Line or Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line, and get off at Shinsaibashi. Then walk for about 5 minutes.
2. Take Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, Sennichimae Line or Yotsubashi Line, and get off at Namba Station. Then walk for about 5 minutes. 
3. Take Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line, and get off Nagahoribashi Statiton. Then walk for about 10 minutes. 

From Kansai International Airport

1. Take Limousin Bus, and get off at Namba Station, which takes about 50 minutes. 
2. Take Nankai Rapit Line, and get off Namba Station, which takes about 35 minutes. 

From Osaka Itami Airport

1. Take Limousin Bus, and get off at Namba Station, which takes about 40 minutes. 

Nearby Must-go Attractions 

1. Dotondori is next to the Shinsaibashi, and colorful and huge signs decorate the street. The varied Osaka snacks here attract countless visitors. 

2. Hozenji Yokocho is an ancient alley around the Hozenji Temple that show the old street scene of Japan. About 60 food shops are lined there. Meoto Zenzai is the must-visit store here. 

3. Kuromon Market is known for its fresh and high-quality seafood, and abundant authentic Osaka snacks are sold here, like Seared scallops with butter, takoyaki, and roast wagyu beef.
