How to Get Cambodian Tourist Visa

For those who know their stay will be around 30 days or less, a Cambodian tourist visa (T class) is the best option. This 30-day tourist visa is available to travelers in several ways. You can avail Cambodian tourist visa in advance or on arrival for a cost of $30. However, there are some countries whose citizens are not eligible for a Cambodian tourist visa. They need to get a visa in advance.

The Cambodian tourist visa is a single entry only. It can be renewed for an additional 30 days. For that, you need to pay a fee of between $30 and $50. It cannot be extended further. It means that Cambodian tourist visa holders have to leave Cambodia and go back to their country to obtain a new visa.

However, if you are planning on staying in Cambodia for long, it is better to apply for an ordinary visa instead of a Cambodian tourist visa.

There are three ways by which one can get a Cambodian tourist visa, let’s check them out:

Visa on Arrival: Most Convenient Option for Cambodian Tourist Visa

Passport holders of most nationalities, who are visiting Cambodia for Tourism purposes, can avail the Visa on Arrival as soon as they land in Cambodia. You can get a Cambodia Visa on Arrival at the visa counters at Siem Reap International Airport, Phnom Penh International Airport, and Sihanoukville International Airport. You just need to provide a valid passport and some other documents.

It costs around $30. This amount can be paid by cash. It is always better to carry cash as you won’t find ATMs at Phnom Penh Airports or Siem Reap. Those you are going to enter the country by road, the Cambodia-Laos Border, and Cambodia-Thailand Border offer checkpoints for your visa collection. For tourists coming from Vietnam through Bavet, they need to obtain visas in advance through an overseas consulate or a Cambodian Embassy.

Duration of stay: 30 days for a single entry.

Extension: In case you want to stay for more than 30 days, you can request an extension of visa at the Immigration Counter outside Phnom Penh International Airport. You need to pay an additional amount of $ 25 for that. Keep in mind that the extension cannot go beyond 30 days.

Applying for Cambodian Tourist visa? Electronic Visa Is the Best Way!

This is one of the best ways to get a Cambodian tourist visa. An e-Visa is a document that granted online through the web-based visa system. It is preferred by those who want to visit the country only for short Visits for casual visits, tourism, short business visit, or short duration medical treatment.

It can be applied online before you enter Cambodia by visiting the consulate website and official embassy.
•  Register an account online
•  Fill up appropriate details in the visa form, as required
•  Upload a face shot of yourself (either PNG or JPG )
•  Make the required payment of $ 30 with a valid credit card.
•  Take a print of e-Visa as you receive it on your email address after being approved.

The process takes a maximum of three days, but a lot of applicants get their approved visa within 24 hours.

E-Visa holders, upon arrival in Cambodia, fill in an entry/exit card and submit it to the immigration officer. An e-Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of the issue. However, the duration of stay is restricted to 30 days for a single entry, which can be extended once by 30 more days only.

The best thing about the e-Visa is that in case the trip gets postponed by slightly, one can change the date of arrival as well as departure. However, it needs to be within the validity of the e-Visa and, of course, should be lesser than 30 days.

Documents needed for e-Visa are:

•  A scanned copy of the passport validity of 6 months
