    Arrival in Madagascar

    You will arrive in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar by air. As soon as you arrive, you will transfer to check in the hotel and be free for the rest of the day.

  • Day
    Antananarivo - Morondava

    After breakfast, you will go to the airport and take the flight to the famous tourist city--Morondava, which is on the west coast of Madagascar. The city is famous for its unique geographical environment and tourism resources. The most appealing place is the coast, which rich in natural resources and surrounded by mangrove and lagoon. Tourists are also attracted to the well-known silver sand beach and the most excellent fishermen--the vezu people who pole the brigs with balanced beams. This area is home to 7 races of baobabs in Madagascar. It will be a memorable experience for you to watch the spectacular sunset in baobab savanna. You can also find “baobab lovers”--the gross trunks of two baobabs cuddle together and extend upwards. This attracts lovers come to make wishes from far away. Upon arrival, you will check in a seaside hotel and then you can go to baobab road to visit in the afternoon

    Today, you will leave for the Kirindy Preserve which is about two and half hours ride from the hotel. The preserve connects the western and southern Madagascar. The plain here is covered by tropical shrubbery and conifers, but mainly by the baobabs. Among the national parks of Madagascar, it has the biggest local species, including 11 races of mammals including four kinds of lemurs, 47 races of birds including 33 kinds of local races and 23 races of reptiles which are all local races. In the afternoon, you will head to the Kimony beach, which is the most beautiful beach along the west coast of Madagascar. It is original, without any artificial construction. There are many local fishermen living on the coast. Therefore, you can visit the local original fishing village, through which shutterbugs will have many precious cultural subjects. Then you will come back to the hotel and enjoy dinner.

    Morondava - Toliara - Isalo

    In the morning, you will go to the Morondava airport and take a flight to the southern province--Toliara. Upon arrival, you may have a city sightseeing tour. Then you will drive northward along the national road. You can see how different the geography of the southwest it is from that of the central and northern area. The central and northern area is highland with chain of mountains, while the southern area is a piece of boundless plain, which is more corresponding to people’s imagination about the Africa scene. About three and a half hours drive, you can get to the Isalo Reserve, one of the national parks owns most tourists in Madagascar. The Reserve is characterized by the unique landform which was formed in the Jurassic Period. After visiting the park, you will move to see the Gobi desert landscape with a name of “the window of Isalo”. At last, you will check in a hotel near the Reserve.

    Isalo - Fianarantsoa

    Drive towards north and reach Fianarantsoa province, which is part of the hilly country of the central highland. The province plays a crucial role in the history of Madagascar and the earliest urban construction can trace back to the year of 1830. The old city Tanana Ambony still preserves the historical relics well, such as the alley built by slates, staggered steps and traditional buildings with red-brick cuspate roofs and galleries. From those you can see the stories of the city. Fianarantsoa is also hailed as “literates’ town”, because many famous scholars in the history of Madagascar came from here. Therefore, the education level of Fianarantsoa has always been the best in Madagascar.
