Day 1: Saturday, Pick-up at Antananarivo Airport
Our English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up at the airport in Antananarivo. A 20-minute drive will take you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you.

Note: In order to meet the domestic flights scheduled in the following itinerary, please arrive on Saturday. If your arrival date is not a Saturday, please feel free to contact us in advance and we will try our best to customize the itinerary to suit your time requirements and interests.

Accommodation: San Cristobal Hotel - Ivato Airport (3 stars)

Day 2: Sunday, Fly to Morondava, Drive to Kirindy
We will arrange for you a morning flight to Morondava in western Madagascar. Upon arrival, the local driver guide will pick you up at the airport and drive directly to Kirindy (75km/3h drive), passing the famous Baobab Alley on the road. Check into the hotel on arrival.

After dinner, let’s have an evening walk through the Kirindy Forest to see endemic nocturnal animals. Fossa, the largest but elusive carnivore unique to Madagascar, can be easily found here. You can also spot endangered giant jumping rats and mouse lemurs, the world’s smallest primate. In this largest surviving dry forest on this planet, there will be more to explore during daytime, so be prepared!

Day 3: Monday, Morning Tour through Kirindy Forest, Transfer to Bekopaka
More to discover in the Kirindy Forest in daylight! With our tour guide, enjoy a 3-hour stroll through the forest. You’ll closely observe day lemurs and other wildlife unique to this island. One thing to see is its Grandidier’s baobabs, Madagascar’s most famous species of baobabs! Fossae can be found too as they also hunt during the day.

Afterwards, take a boat to cross the Tsiribihina River and arrive at Belo sur Tsiribihina. Then continue driving to the next stop Bekopaka (125km/5h drive) and check into the hotel.

Day 4: Tuesday, Visit the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park
Today’s safari tour takes place in the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park. Located on the west coast of Madagascar, the park is a World Heritage site for its otherworldly karst landscape and various rare species of lemurs, birds, and reptiles. The major areas of the park, known as Great and Little Tsingy (Malagasy word translated as “where one cannot walk barefoot”), offer an alien scenery of rugged lime stones eroded into paper-thin and razor-sharp peaks. Mangrove swamps are also a feature. Follow our local guide to explore the Tsingy area and its surroundings! At noon, enjoy self-prepared picnic lunch inside the park. We will return to hotel at around 15:00-16:00.

Day 5: Wednesday, Drive back to Morondava, Stop at Avenue of the Baobabs
We will drive back to Morondava toady (200km/9h drive). While in Belo sur Tsiribihina, cross the Tsiribihina River by boat. A beautiful sunset will be enjoyed at Avenue of the Baobabs on the way. On arrival, check into the hotel.

Day 6: Thursday, Fly back to Antananarivo, Transfer to Andasibe
Enjoy a free morning and our driver guide will escort you to the airport for an afternoon flight back to Antananarivo. After picking you up, our driver guide based there will drive you along the RN2 national road to Andasibe (170km/4h drive). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel.

Accommodation: Vakona Forest Lodge (3 stars)

Day 7: Friday, Andasibe National Park & Vakona Reserve
In the morning, the local guide will escort you to walk for 4 hours through the virgin forest in Andasibe National Park, one of a few areas to look for native black and white Indri Indri, the largest of all lemurs, bamboo and ruffled lemurs, and many other rare wildlife. Hearken to the loud singing of Indris! Their eerie wails in the morning are definitely highlights of today’s tour.

In the afternoon, the driver guide will lead you to explore the Vakona Reserve for about 2 hours. At night, with a local guide, explore the areas around the hotel where some nocturnal lemurs, reptiles and chameleons often appear.

Day 8: Saturday, Andasibe - Manambato Beach - Akanin’ny Nofy
After breakfast, drive to Manambato Beach (145km/4h drive) and then embark on a 1.5-hour boat journey to Akanin’ny Nofy Reserve. Ready to be amazed by the scenery along the way! After arrival, check into the hotel to rest.

Day 9: Sunday, Akanin’ny Nofy
Today, our local guide will escort you to explore Akanin’ny Nofy Reserve, aka Palmarium Reserve, for about 3 hours. In this Nest of Dream, which the Malagasy name means, you will encounter many lemurs including black Macaco, the above-mentioned Indri Indri, as well as various kinds of orchids and carnivorous plants.

In the afternoon, take a boat to a local fishing village and enjoy its beautiful views. At around 17:00, go to the Aye-Aye Island by boat to see endangered night aye-aye lemurs.

Day 10: Monday, Akanin’ny Nofy - Manambato Beach - Antananarivo
Today, we will leave from Akanin’ny Nofy back to Manambato Beach by boat. An 8-hour drive (315km) is followed to Antananarivo. En route, make a stop at the Reserve Peyreiras Madagascar Exotic, a private land surrounded by dense forest breeding and protecting a variety of butterflies, reptiles and lemurs. Here you can even pet some tame animals! Upon arrival in Antananarivo, check in at your hotel.

Day 11: Tuesday, Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, Departure from Antananarivo
Today is the last day of your Madagascar safari tour. Let’s visit the sacred King’s Palace on Royal Hill of Ambohimanga in the morning. Once home to the great king of Andrianampoinimerina (1787–1810) who endeavored to bring the then divided island into one, Ambohimanga is now a UNESCO-honored site offering insight to local history and culture.

After the tour finishes, your driver will take you to Ivato Airport in Antananarivo according to your flight schedule. Hope you a pleasant homeward trip!
