Day 1: Arrival in Baku; Airport Pick-up
Welcome to Azerbaijan! Upon arrival, our English-speaking driver will pick you up at Baku Airport and escort you to your hotel in the downtown. For the rest of the day, you may stroll along the promenade next to your hotel by yourself, admiring views of the Caspian Sea and soaking up Baku’s laid-back atmosphere, or just have a good rest in your hotel room.

 Money Exchanging Tips
While card payments are common in Baku, cash remains the primary payment method in Azerbaijan. Manat (AZN) is the official currency, and one USD equals approximately 1.66 AZN. You can exchange a small amount of cash at the ABB Bank ATM out of the customs at the airport, since the exchange rate in the city center is usually more favorable, reaching 1:1.69. After tomorrow’s sightseeing, you may find a Kapital Bank or Access Bank near the Old City to exchange money, or ask your guide for recommendations. In addition, there are ATMs in major cities like Baku and Sheki.

 Visa Tips
Tourists from most countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, and EU states, need to apply for an e-visa to enter Azerbaijan. The handling time is typically 3 days, and the fee is USD 24. Please apply on the official website in advance according to your travel dates. Additionally, due to the tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the land border is closed. If you plan to visit the three Caucasus countries, it is recommended to arrange your itinerary in the order of Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia.
