Baku & Gabala Tour

Let's kick off our Baku exploration today! The driver guide will firstly accompany you to see the exterior of Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, a distinctive landmark in Baku, as this wholly-white architecture looks like the waves blown up by the sea breeze. We will also see Baku Conference Hall from outside. After that, head to Highland Park. On the viewing platform on the top of this park, you will get an incredible full view of Baku city. Then, we will go to Flame Towers, to see the three buildings side by side, in the shape of flames. Carpets are one of the most important traditional handicrafts in the country, so we will go to see those beautiful handmade products at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. Then we will have a leisurely walking tour at the nearby Little Venice and Baku Boulevard, to get the feel of exotic seaside views in Baku Bay.

In this afternoon, we will visit bustling commercial area Nizami Street, with numerous restaurants and shops, and the buildings in the style of 19th century. There are also some attractive fountains and sculptures on the streets. After, we will roam around the Old City of Baku, the historical center as well as a world heritage site. You can see the old architecture since the 12th century, which is a great way to learn local history. At last, return to the hotel.

Today, we will extend the tour to Gabala 220km (135mi). It takes about 3 hours or so to drive there. On the way, we will pay a stopover visit to the architectural masterpiece Diribaba Mausoleum, which was embedded in the hill around 600 years ago. Getting to Shamakhi, we will also drop by Juma Mosque, the grandest mosque in Azerbaijan. On arrival in Gabala, we will go around Nohurgol Lake hidden in the woods and hills. In this afternoon, we will move on to Tufandag ski resort, where we are to take the ski lift and get to the mountain top to take in the landscapes in the surroundings. Finally, we will drive back to Baku.

Tips: Please kindly notice today's tour will take around 11-12 hours. You are suggested to have a good rest the day before to prepare for it.
