Day 1: Arrival in Hobart Welcome to Hobart - the capital of Tasmania! Our driver-guide will pick you up at the airport and escort you to check in to the hotel. In the afternoon, the tour will officially start. You will be led to visit the ancient Battery Point, the earliest colonial village on the island, where stands the most ancient architecture of the state. Afterwards, we will head to the cradle of the excellent local artworks and handicrafts - Salamanca Place and appreciate the varieties of flowers in Botanic Gardens. Followed by a visit to Constitution Dock to see different sailboats and the ancient architectures and stop by Mt. Day 2: Transfer from Hobart to Cradle Mountain via Meander Valley Today, we will start from Hobart, drive through the historical Oatlands, where stands the Georgian architectures along the street, and finally reach Ross town with a long history. Leisurely stroll around the town and try to find the best scallop pie in a local bakery. Stop by Meander Valley, where the apiaries produce the clover honey with the flavor of slight citrus and vanilla. You can have a taste of the local dessert here. Afterwards, hike to Tulampanga/Alum Cliffs and enjoy the scenery of Great Western Tiers. In the end, we will check in to the hotel in Cradle Valley. Accommodation: Cradle Mountain Hotel (4 stars)
Day 3: Explore Cradle Mountain National Park, Drive to Launceston In the morning, we are going to explore the Cradle Mountain National Park along different footpaths. The hiking route to Marion's Lookout is a more popular one. In the afternoon, we will set out to Sheffield, a town famous for mural paintings. Then proceed to the historical city - Launceston, the second largest city on Tasmania. Upon arrival, you can have a cup of afternoon tea at Elder's Centre and chat with the local elders to learn about how their aboriginal culture is preserved and inherited after hardships. Day 4: Tour Bridestowe Lavender Estate, Transfer to Bicheno by Car Follow the guide to visit Bridestowe Lavender Estate which has been producing high-quality lavenders since 1922. After touring Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees site, we will drive along the picturesque east coast to Bicheno and check in to the hotel. With plenty of penguins, it got the name "Penguin Town". The penguins here are the smallest of its kind and called Ferry Penguin. Every dusk, they will come in the seaside grass and rocks to forage for their babies. Day 5: Drive from Bicheno to Hobart with stopover at Freycinet National Park Freycinet National Park, our first stop today, can be reached in an hour by car. We will watch the blue sea, lush forests and golden beach at Cape Tourville, or appreciate the beautiful scenery at Wineglass Bay which is renowned as one of the 10 largest beaches in the world. Then we are going back to Hobart via several seaside towns like Swansea, Orford and Richmond. Richmond is well-known for its elegant Georgian buildings. The architecture heritage of 1820s there has been used as gallery, teahouse, art and crafts stores and museums. After reaching Hobart, check in to the hotel.
