Halong Bay Cruise & Sapa Hiking

Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. During the following one week, you will be shown around the most classical and characteristic sites in and around this city. 

Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport by your professional guide and experienced driver and then be transferred to a well-selected downtown hotel. After a short rest, your adventure will begin in the city central with the Hoan Kiem Lake and the nearby Opera House, Old Quarter, as well as Ngoc Son Temple. After finishing the visit, you will be served with a sumptuous Vietnamese dinner at a fancy local restaurant this evening.

After breakfast, we will come to the Ba Dihn Square, which is in the heart of Hanoi and can hold 200,000 people at one time. Around the square stands many famous architectures, including Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, his stilt house, as well as the Presidential Palace, from which you will learn how great and simple Ho Chi Minh, the father of Vietnam, was. Then we will visit the One Pillar Pagoda, which is built on a large stone pillar in the lingzhao Pool and looks like a giant blooming lotus. Afterwards, head to visit the Temple of Literature, the Quan Thanh Temple, the Tran Quoc Pagoda, the West Lake, and either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum one by one. After visiting these places, you will know more about Vietnam's rich and splendid history and culture. At last, enjoy the traditional Water Puppet Show before go to the railway station for an overnight train to Lao Cai.

Upon your arrival in the early morning, your local guide and driver will pick you up at the exit of the train station on time and then transfer you to Sapa, a welcome summer resort full of exotic atmosphere. After driving for around half an hour, we will arrive and you will check in at the hotel under the help of your guide. Your breakfast today will be arranged at the hotel and afterwards, your guide will take you to enjoy the amazing view by a preliminary trekking through the terraced rice fields. During the journey, you will also visit two hill villages, the Cat Cat village and the Sin Chai village, where the Hmong people live. The rest of the day will be left for you to explore the town on your own freely.

The distinctive Sapa absolutely deserves more exploration. Today you will have an ample full day to take a hiking through the picturesque valleys and villages. Based on your physical conditions, you may choose to have a short trek for about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles), a medium trek for about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles), or a longer trek for about 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) to immerse yourself in the beautiful natural scenery.

In addition, during the walking journey, you will have a valuable chance to get up close to the local H'mong, Dzao and Dzay tribe to learn about their unique costumes, traditions and handicrafts. This evening, you will be transferred to Lao Cai to take the overnight train back to Hanoi.

The train will arrive in the morning and your guide and driver will pick you up outside the train station on time and then accompany you to have breakfast at a nearby hotel. Then you will be driven for around 3.5 hours to the Halong Bay, which is one of the seven natural wonders in the world. Upon arrival at noon, you will board the cruise to fully explore the splendid Halong Bay.

Today's lunch will be delicious Vietnamese cuisines on the cruise. In the afternoon, you can enjoy your time while cruising around many beautiful islands. Midway through, we will stop and visit an amazing cave, which is one of the largest and most spectacular grottoes in Halong Bay. The activities on board are also varied. You can join in the ones you like, which will make your trip enjoyable and special.

In the early morning, generally from 05:30 to 07:00, you can participate in the Tai Chi class on the top deck if you like. Then you can enjoy morning tea, coffee and pastries in the dining room. Afterwards, you will have a morning land excursion to a nearby island where you may climb to the peak for a 360 degree view of the Bay. Provided it is a good weather, you will also have time to lie on the beach and swim in the clean and warm water. After some leisure time here, return to the boat to have a late brunch while the boat sails back to the pier.

After disembarking, you will meet your driver at the dock and then be driven to the airport for the flight to the next destination. Your trip with us will draw to an end here.
