    I will go to China.
If you read my title maybe you think "Why do you review if you did not go to China?"

The answer is that I want to acknowledge the entire process of planning and canceling our trip due to the pandemic. I contacted Travel China Guide Tours on October maybe November 2019. I was lucky that my travel consultant was Lexi, a very professional, friendly and always ready to help young woman. All my questions and interests were answered within 24 hours. Incredible thing when we live on the other side of the globe. When our itinerary was excellent and we deposited 33% of the total cost, the Corona Virus emergency appeared. The company was at all times concerned about our trip and when we decided that we were unable to go due to this worldwide emergency, the tour was canceled and we were reimbursed with 100% of our deposit. Only a prestigious company is capable of serving its clients the way we were treated. I highly recommend Travel China Guide Tours and Lexi Yang their Travel Consultant. More

Cancelled due to Coronavirus but positive experience, nonetheless.
We had business that was bringing us to, of all places, Wuhan, so we decided to bring our 16 year old and tour Beijing and Shanghai as well.

I had no idea where to begin to find a tour company we could trust but I happened across Travel China Guide. Their mini group tour sounded perfect. We asked our business contacts to check the company out and they said they were legitimate. Emily answered questions promptly, given the 12 hour time difference. She was excellent to work with and we got very excited as our trip drew near.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and we had to cancel our tour just a few weeks after wiring the entire balance due to China. To be honest, I wondered if we would ever see our refund, but Emily came through. Once again, her communication was excellent.

We truly hope to make it to China at some point in the future and I will not hesitate to book a tour with China Tour Guide again.

    Thank you Guys
We had a complete itinerary Plan for our vacation trip to China.

Unexpectedly the COVID19 showed off and all airlines and hotels started to doubt and our Plans did become uncertain and risky.

Your Company was the first one in attend our solicitude and make a full refund, we really appreciate your warmth words and your prompt refund.

No doubt is left in our minds to choose again a serious Company like yours as our first-hand experiences to discover in our next year travel to China.

    Trip Cancellation.
The Travel Guide China team were incredibly helpful when it came to giving me my refunds. I was scheduled to travel to China in March, and I used them to book not only tours, but domestic flights and trains within China. Their website is really awesome, very detailed, and a really great way to plan a trip to China.I felt safe making my payments to them. Anyway I had to cancel, they were very prompt with their responses, and they were honest about the challenges they were facing. Not once did I feel ignored or that I wouldn't get my refund. They did their best to ensure that my queries were taken care of,and I received all of my refunds. I will definitely be using them again.

    THE BEST TRAVEL CHINA GUIDE
I've just wanted to express my thanking for this agency notwithstanding I didn't used their services, actually I wanted to do it, in fact I booked a wonderful journey in China for next August.
As all we know, in these days, the situation is a little complicated, I mean about this virus that it's spreading around the world. So last year in October I booked everything with this agency (train and some excursion) all paid. Since also the situation we're living in Italy is becoming critical, today I don't feel anymore sure to do this travel and I wrote them a messege because I wished to cancel my booking.
In two days I received the refund of all I booked. This agency has proven to be the best I have ever used, higly professional, fast comunication by email and great love for their customers.
I wanted to reccomend this agency because they deserve it, it's not easy to find out someone else as them.
I hope everything will be better soon and I'll promise you that this is not a goodbye but a More

    12 Day Private Tour - Beijing-Pingyao-Xi’an-Harbin-Shanghai
We have just completed a 12 day private tour booked through Emily at Travel China Guide.
From the very start Emily was always very responsive to my endless questions and changes so that we could get the experience that we wanted to have. Thanks Emily for your professional service!
Our tour started with 2 days in Beijing where we visited the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Hutongs and the Great Wall at Mutianyu - with a beautiful sprinkling of snow. Yes it was cold but nothing a few layers of clothes didn’t fix and there were no crowds. Almost had the place to ourselves - it was fantastic to finally visit.
We then traveled by high speed train, after our guide assisted us through the checking in process, onto Pingyao. What a beautiful place! It was like stepping back in history. We stayed at a gorgeous hotel - the Yide Hotel, we had a courtyard to ourselves. Everyone was so lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this pretty place.

Next we traveled to Xi’an and had the pleasure of visiting the Terra-cotta Warriors, City Wall and the Big Wild Goose pagoda. Another city full of ancient history and wonders.
Following Xi’an we flew to Harbin and visited the exquisite Ice and Snow festival, Sun Island Snow sculptors, the Zhaolin Ice Lanterns as well as the amusement park on the Songhua river - a lot of laughs were had! We have waited a long time for an opportunity to visit the Ice and Snow festival and was in total awe of it! Could’ve spent longer here to fully take it all in.
We then finished our tour with a day in Shanghai.
Overall we had a wonderful time with very professional and helpful guides. They all ensured our every needs were met, checked us into our hotels, transport and other activities we wanted to go to.
We will definitely be recommending Travel China Guide and visiting China in Winter! Thanks for a wonderful itinerary and experience! Less

TravelChinaGuide provided the best tour experience we have ever had
Everything about our tour was fantastic. From the moment we made our first inquiry throughout more than a dozen email message and phone calls, our TravelChinaGuide.com travel consultant, Abbey Cheng was delightful! Abbey was most helpful in answering all of our questions before the tour and even a few after the tour began. I can’t say enough about the excellent customer service Abbey provided before and during our tour. All of our TravelChinaGuide tour guides were outstanding. Ocean got us off to a great start in Shanghai, extending our tour day to help us understand exactly what the luggage limitations for our specific flight from Shanghai to Xian. Susan in Xian was so thoughtful, at one point it looked as though we would not have time for a meal Susan went out of her way to find snacks for us at her own expense! In Beijing Maggie was so accommodating! After adjusting our start date to allow my wife time to rest, we had a wonderful tour of the great wall. And then when my wife became More

And then when my wife became very ill, Maggie changed our entire tour plan around to escort us to and around the International Hospital in Beijing. She even stayed with us and helped my wife through preliminary tests and x-rays as she had become very weak. Later Maggie would run out for food while my wife and I remained at the hospital. She even arranged for a taxi with her personal account when we had to make a second trip to the hospital the following day. We are so grateful for all Maggie did when our plans had to be adjusted. Fantastic-all in one day!
Our guide Tracy was very knowledgeable and friendly. She led the group very well. She took pride in her work. The minibus driver was very good. We did so much in one day it was brilliant. We did: Terracotta Army for couple of hours, we had a Chinese lunch which was in a traditional restaurant and was big portions! So filling, I couldn't finish what I ordered. You pay separately for what you have, which is a nice touch. It's no problem at all. Toilets were available continuously throughout the day, several times at EVERY stop, so no need to worry about this. (When in China, carry tissues and hand sanitizer just in case!). We then went to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, then the Xi'an City Wall and Drum Tower - you get half an hour to walk part of this (this is enough time). Then you go to the city centre - you can choose to get off here and make your own way back or you can choose to be driven back to your hotel, totally up to you. I choose to get off (as did all but one of the group) as you are dropped off right by the Muslim Quarter. The market (bazaar) here is a must to visit I have to say. There is so much street food to try and all very cheap. I then got the Metro (for 2 yuan!! ) to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda as Tracy reccommended and this was very pretty and there is the biggest and longest pedestrian street I've ever walked (I didn't walk of all of it as it's so long!!! ) but here it is all lit up with Chinese lanterns and the trees are so beautiful. I'm definitely grateful to Tracy for encouraging me to do this. She was most helpful to type in my phone the name of the metros I had to take to get there. I then went one further and crammed in seeing the Tang Paradise, which was within walking distance from this pedestrian street (you will know when you're on it). A very beautiful area indeed. Thank you Tracy and China Travel Guide - you were all fantastic, just as all your Trip Advisor reviews say you are. I am delighted I booked with you. I reccommend without any hesitation! Do it!! Less

    Excellent 16 day private tour
Travel China Guide (TCG) arranged a private 16 day tour for us visiting Shanghai - Beijing and the Great Wall - Pingyao - Xian - Chengdu - Guilin and Yangshuo. I have no hesitation in recommending them. They were good value when compared with other Chinese tour operators and much better value than well known UK companies who also priced our itinerary.

Kelly Wang was our excellent travel consultant who I dealt with by email over a 2-3 month period in autumn 2018 to develop the itinerary that we wanted. Our tour was completed in October 2019. We had a fairly detailed draft itinerary but Kelly helped us refine it and booked all the internal high speed rail travel, hotels, activities and of course arranged for the guides and drivers who escorted us. Kelly even came to our rescue when we had an incident at one of our hotels and decided to move on early. She efficiently re-arranged travel to our next location and negotiated with the hotel. Kelly even came to our rescue when we had an incident at one of our hotels and decided to move on early. She efficiently re-arranged travel to our next location and negotiated with the hotel. We booked our flights to China and extensions to the tour that took us to Hong Kong and Singapore.

The arrangements all worked well. The guides were all waiting for us at the airport or train stations and made sure we got on the right trains as moved around the country. They were all friendly and helpful. Several arranged extra activities that we only found out about when we arrived. Most spoke and understood English well. They were knowledgeable although a couple were relatively young and inexperienced. All the cars we hand their drivers were good apart from one car that was a bit scruffy. All the drivers were courteous and also went out of their way on occasions to take us to places not on our original itinerary.

The highlights of our tour were Beijing and the Great Wall, Xian and the Terracotta Army and Chengdu and the Panda Research Station. If I was planning the trip again I would skip Pingyao - ancient walled city but very touristy - and the Li River cruise - pretty if the weather is good but another tourist magnet.

My other advice would be watch out for battery operated scooters in the cities, they are everywhere and you don't hear them coming! Do travel by the world class high speed trains and do it in first - it's not much extra and is much more comfortable as the trains are busy. Use at least 4* hotels and think carefully about any that are described as boutique, historic or character hotels. They may be different but not alway in the best way.

The TCG website has a wealth of information that's really useful for research.

Finally, do go and visit China. You'll not be disappointed First world, third world, rich history and culture, stunning scenery, beautiful buildings, thousands of ugly modern apartment blocks, traditional skills and cutting edge technology. It's got it all. Less

A day well spent thanks to our accommodating tour guide, Lola
I booked this trip directly through the Travel China Guide website just the day before I wanted to go. My 60s+ parents and I (20s) had one full day in Xi'an and we wanted to make the best of it - and I would say this tour really did the job well. We were a small group of about 8 people leaving plenty of space in our van (important for napping after the drive back into the city!).

I think it was nicely paced giving an appropriate enough time in each stop. Lola was our tour guide and her English was clear, albeit a little bit soft at times (loud enough for me but less some of the elderly on the trip). Otherwise, she was the perfect guide for such a day. She was patient when some of us wandered around to take pictures, she never rushed us, and she was very knowledgable about each site. Most importantly, she was accommodating!

I'm embarrassed to say that my mom got separated almost immediately upon entry to the terra-cotta museum (watch out - it's SO CROWDED). I have a Chinese sim card More

Most importantly, she was accommodating!

I'm embarrassed to say that my mom got separated almost immediately upon entry to the terra-cotta museum (watch out - it's SO CROWDED). I have a Chinese sim card so while I went off to find my mom Lola kept me updated about the group's location on WeChat (Chinese messenger app). In the end, it was Lola who called me to say she found my mom. Since I missed most of the terra-cotta tour, Lola let me walk around on my own to see everything more slowly while the rest had lunch.

While I really want to take one star off for the stop with the "farmer" who found the terra-cotta warriors (any prior Google search will inform you that this is not exactly true).. I can't bring myself to do that due to me being so impressed with Lola. The tour's itinerary describes the tour finishing at the Muslim market. By the end of the day, my dad was tired but my mom and I were still eager to explore. Lola accommodated us even further by allowing us to split. She arranged the bus driver to drop my mom and I off at the market with 2 other members of the group before my dad was dropped at the hotel. Tip - the market was definitely worth an additional 2-3 hour walk around to the see the famous Bell Tower, souvenir shopping, and street food tasting! Lola did me one last favor later that night when I asked her to check on one of the group members who accompanied me to the Muslim market. I had called a Didi (Chinese Uber) for him to his hotel, but I still wanted to check if he returned ok. Lola called his hotel on my request and followed up with me to assure me all was well. Honestly, that's what I call amazing customer service. She just went above and beyond.

Overall, I'd recommend this tour for anyone on a quick trip to Xi'an. It's informative and interesting and hits all the must go to places for a very reasonable price. Less
