Day 2: July 11: The Naadam Festival
Today your private Mongolia tour will begin. Our guide will take you to participate in the Naadam Festival, a traditional as well as the grandest festival in Mongolia with a long history.

During the festival, a lot of activities will be held, including wrestling, horse racing and archery, the three most favorite activities among Mongolian people. Wrestling is the favorite sport of Mongolian, which has its unique clothes, rules and methods. It is an untimed competition in which wrestlers are not allowed to hold opponents' legs, hit their faces, touch their eyes or ears or kick their abdomens. Wrestlers will lose if any part of their body above the knees touches the ground. Horse racing has no limitation on the participants, even children and women can participate in and the Mongols enjoy the feeling of "flying" on the horse back very much. The archery is divided into short-distance shooting, mounted shooting and long-distance shooting. Both men and women can participate in this competition. During the festival, you will also have a chance to taste delicious Mongolian food, watch traditional Mongolian dancing, and enjoy their wonderful music.

Day 3: July 12: Classic Highlights in Ulaanbaatar, Full Fay City Tour
A full day Ulaanbaatar city tour will be scheduled for you today.

The first spot of your private Ulaanbaatar city tour will be a Tibetan style Buddhism monastery, Gandan Monastery, which was initially built in 1835. Nowadays, it is an activity center for Buddhists in Mongolia. The monastery worships a golden Buddha statue, which is one of the national treasures of Mongolia.

Next, our guide will escort you to Sukhbaatar Square in the city center of Ulaanbaatar. At the center of the square, there is a statue of Sukhbaatar, who is a hero of Mongolia. The Parliament House is right behind the statue.

Continue the tour to National Museum of Mongolia. The exhibitions there present Mongolian history from prehistoric times to the present day, including Mongolia Stone Age ruins and rock carvings, traditional clothes of Mongolian and representative art works of the nomads.

Then our guide will accompany you to Bogd Khaan Palace Museum. Built in 1903, it was once the winter palace for the last emperor of Mongolia. The palace houses rich collections, including clothes of the royal families, articles for their daily use, Tangka, Buddha statues and other religious items.

The last spot of today's Ulaanbaatar city private tour will be Zaisan Memorial Hill, which is located on a mountain to the south of Ulaanbaatar city. It was built to commemorate soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the country in the Second World War (1939 - 1945). Besides, it is also a great place to overview the whole city. To conclude the day, a traditional show "Wonders of Mongolia" will be arranged for you.

The festival was really big. During this holiday, we learned a lot about nomadic culture. We also tried archery and other competitions, which were very interesting.

Our accommodations were arranged in the hotel, we regret not being able to experience the yurts overnight. It rained a little at that time. The grassland was very wet, and the sky was clear and the air was fresher after the rain.

Sorry for the late comment. We scheduled a traditional Naadam festival and a full day Ulaanbaatar city tour in July. We learned a lot about the culture of Mongolia through this flourishing festival… And we visited Gandan Monastery and knew the history of this nation. Quite a cost-effective 4-day Mongolia city tour!

We went to Mongolia in July. The Naadam festival was very lively! We watched a lot of live competitions. I enjoyed archery, which was divided into three types of shooting. Both men and women could participate in this competition. So exciting and interesting!
