This morning, your guide will accompany you on a boat trip to Rasdhoo, one of the Maldives’ well-known local islands. There, you can experience the authentic rustic charm of the Maldives and enjoy excursions similar to those on resort islands.
Upon arrival, we’ll begin with a brief walking tour of the island, during which your guide will highlight its most interesting features. Around noon, you can ask your guide for restaurant recommendations, enabling you to select based on your preferences. Later, enjoy an immersive tour to explore Rasdhoo’s local culture. Since the Maldives is predominantly Muslim, each island has a mosque that serves as both a religious and administrative hub, with a loudspeaker that announces prayer times. The islanders are deeply religious yet friendly to tourists. You may interact with local children or observe women preparing meals. However, Muslim customs mean that pork and alcohol are unavailable on the island.
On this slow-paced afternoon, follow your guide to enjoy an afternoon tea like locals do, pairing Hedikka with hot black tea at a cafe. This traditional snack, typically offered in both sweet and savory versions, features tuna and coconut, both abundant ingredients in the Maldives, each promising to delight your palate. Day 3: Rasdhoo Diving & Kayaking for Sandbank Sunset
Rasdhoo is celebrated for its vibrant marine life, accounting for 90% of its appeal. Today, you’ll join your guide on a diving trip to discover why Rasdhoo is a favorite among divers. The small island, walkable in just half an hour, is fringed with top-tier dive sites where you can encounter nurse sharks, manta rays, grey reef sharks, and other large marine species. It’s also among the rare locations in the world where hammerhead sharks can be spotted during morning dives. If you’re a beginner, pay close attention to the snorkeling safety tips from our experienced guide and carefully use your gear to ensure safety and comfort in the water. Afterward, get ready to witness manta storms, shark walls, and a variety of other fish in the underwater world!
In the afternoon, we’ll kayak to a sandbank. Unlike other islands that demand lengthy journeys, Rasdhoo offers a quick boat ride to this beautiful, secluded sandbank. Relax there, catch hermit crabs, enjoy the sunset, and finally head back to your hotel with your guide.

Day 4: Rasdhoo to Ukulhas by Boat, Local Fishery Exploration
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel for a boat trip to Ukulhas Island, arriving by noon. Several restaurants on the island offer Thai food, local seafood, Italian cuisine, and more, so you can have a self-paid lunch to your preference.

Day 5: Ukulhas to Mathiveri by Boat, Island Walking & Dolphin-spotting Sail
Today, enjoy your morning leisure on Ukulhas Island at your own pace. Begin with breakfast, usually featuring traditional Masroshi pastry as an appetizer. Then, savor hulhummi (Maldives’ signature bean paste) or mas huni (tuna mixed with onions, coconut flakes, lime juice, and more), served with roshi flatbread and hot tea – simple but nutritious. Afterward, unwind on a shaded sun lounger while taking in the tranquil ocean view or take advantage of the calm morning waves with a shore dive to observe the lively fish.
After lunch on your own, say goodbye to Ukulhas and take a boat with your guide to Mativeli Island. Upon arrival, your guide will assist with check-in and introduce you to the island with a walking tour. You can unwind with a drink at a cafe or relax by swinging in the coconut palm grove at Bikini Beach, enjoying the stunning lagoon views. The must-see is the rare dual lagoons, where the shallow eastern lagoon has milky-white shoals and mint-green waters, and the deeper western lagoon displays a gradient from turquoise to deep blue.

A 10–15-minute boat ride will bring you to the manta ray observation spot, where you can reliably see manta rays year-round. You might also encounter sea turtles and small nurse sharks. As you float on the surface, sunlight filters through the water, and giant manta rays glide beneath, their wingtips brushing the surface so close that you feel as if you’re sharing the air with these majestic creatures. This experience offers more than observation; it's a deep connection with nature – a memorable marine encounter on Mathiveri Island.
After returning, your afternoon is entirely free to enjoy as you please, whether you want to relax or keep exploring the island. In the central residential area, you can walk through the fishing market to experience authentic Maldivian daily life. To the north, a quiet, secluded sandbank is accessible by a short 10-minute walk at low tide for peaceful ocean views or snorkeling. Keep in mind that tides change quickly, so it’s best to check with locals whether you need to paddleboard to reach it. On the west side, the rarely visited Stingray Beach offers one of the island’s best sunset views.
