Maldives Holiday at Thoddoo

Welcome to Male, Maldives! After arriving at Velana International Airport (MLE), our guide will pick you up and accompany you to take a boat to Thoddoo Island, taking about 1 hour on the sea. Upon arrival and after hotel check-in, the guide will escort you to get acquainted with the island first, then have a taste of the traditional "hedikaa"-Maldivian style snacks and enjoy a cup of black tea. If you arrive by an early flight, the guide will also lead you to visit Male city on foot to learn about the local history and traditional Maldivian culture.

After breakfast, the guide will accompany you to take a speedboat to experience a diving trip and discover wonderful marine life. You will have the chance to encounter sharks, sea turtle, groupers, mantas and many brightly colored fishes.

The afternoon time will be free for you. You could relax on the beach, or experience more dynamic activities, such as swimming and surfing. In the evening, enjoy a BBQ Dinner, which is cooked by your host.

You are free the whole day today to explore the beautiful beach or try some optional water sports. Tonight, we will arrange a relaxing cruise for you to admire the sunset of Indian Ocean and search for jumping dolphins.

After breakfast, the guide will lead you to the nearby sandbank to have a romantic rural tour. We will spend a lot of time here, relaxing on this beautiful beach, or swimming or snorkeling in the clear water. Later on the day, we will explore the agricultural industry of the island to understand why Thoddoo is called the "hometown of watermelons"! Dinner will be prepared by Thoddoo Farm with the fresh agricultural products. Finally, go back to the hotel.

After breakfast, the guide will escort you to take the ferry to Male to visit the city. We are going to visit the Friday Mosque, National Museum and Sultan Park.

The Friday Mosque, also known as the Malé Hukuru Miskiy, is one of the oldest surviving mosque in Male dates back to the year 1658 and was listed in the UNESCO World Culture Heritage in 2008. Sultan Park is one of the biggest and the most popular attractions in Maldives. This park is built upon the demolished grounds of the Royal Palace in the 16th century. The National Museum is also located in the park. The three-storey national museum was established in the early 1950s to preserve the cultural and historical relics of the country. It is home to an extensive collections of historical artifacts, from ancient stone objects to fragments of royal antiquities dating back to the Buddhist era and the rule of Islamic monarchs.
