Day 1: Male Airport Pick-up; Boat to Dhiffushi Island
Ready to begin your Maldives holiday? Upon your arrival at Male Airport, your guide will pick you up for a private car transfer to the pier, where we’ll take a boat ride to Dhiffushi Island – the easternmost inhabited island in the Maldives, known as Sunrise Island for its first sunrise each day. After arriving and checking in, treat yourself to the hotel dinner we’ve included for you.
► If you arrive early, we’ll take a brief city tour of Male to learn about the local history and culture before proceeding to Dhiffushi.

Situated near Male Airport, Dhiffushi offers a more authentic, nature-focused escape than the well-known Maafushi. Day 2: Dhiffushi Snorkeling & Sightseeing
After breakfast and a hearty greeting from your guide at your hotel, enjoy a quick speedboat ride to excellent snorkeling sites like Coral Garden. The area remains largely undeveloped, with vibrant coral reefs, sea turtles, and diverse tropical fish. Every snapshot is a National Geographic cover-worthy masterpiece.
► Tips
1. The boat provides snorkeling gear, but most of it is wet snorkels. If you prefer a dry snorkel, we recommend bringing your own gear.
2. It’s advisable to apply physical or coral-safe sunscreen to protect the environment.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. You might relax at Bikini Beach on the island’s north side or try shore diving. Keep in mind that, since the beach is small, underwater depth varies significantly, so be cautious not to swim too far and watch for passing boats. Spend the afternoon heat in the water, then at dusk, sit on the swings by Downtown Dhiffushi to watch a peaceful sunset, or go fishing. If luck is on your side, you could even see dolphins.

As you dine, enjoy the peaceful night sky under the stars – nothing offers a more authentic island adventure than this!

Day 3: Dhiffushi Free Time & Guided Sunset Sail
Today, you’re free to explore this beautiful island at your own pace, walking along the beach and soaking in the stunning coconut-palm-lined views. The island can be fully explored in under an hour, but along the way, you may meet lively children playing soccer, skilled young fishermen, shy Muslim girls, and old captains. You might also see friendly manta rays and nurse sharks near the beach. If you’re interested in going out to sea, check with your hotel or dive shop to choose your preferred activities. Some dive shops offer underwater photography; it’s best to ask about prices beforehand or see whether they will take photos with your own gear for free.
► Note: Diffushi’s nurse shark viewing area is enclosed by a breakwater, which might create a confined atmosphere. If you prefer a wilder experience, we don’t suggest taking a special trip there.
In the late afternoon, your guide will accompany you on a boat trip to watch the breathtaking sunset. The waters surrounding Dhiffushi Island are home to spinner dolphins, famous for their remarkable jumps and spins. Sunset is their prime time to leave their resting areas and head into deeper waters for a night of hunting. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot the dolphins, highly excited, often leaping out of the water and spinning quickly. This activity isn’t just social; it also helps them shed parasites. Be prepared to photograph the silhouettes of these leaping dolphins against the beautiful sunset! After the cruise, your guide will return you to your hotel.

Day 4: Return to Male, Airport see-off
On your final day in the Maldives, after breakfast, your guide will accompany you on a 40-minute boat ride back to Male, followed by a private car transfer to the airport for your flight home. The new terminal at Male Airport allows for quick customs clearance, typically taking about 30 minutes. Staff advises against arriving too early. If your departure time is late, consider coordinating your return speedboat with your guide, depending on the weather, to enjoy more time on the island.
