South Laos Highlights

On arrival at Vientiane airport, you will be picked up by your local guide and driver and then be escorted to check into a well selected downtown hotel. For the rest of the day, you can take a good rest and get ready for the upcoming Laos journey.

Accommodation: Lao Poet Hotel (4 stars)

Your Laos tour package will start with the National Museum, where you will see many precious cultural relics and learn about Laos' history. Then we will move forward to Wat Si Saket, the oldest temple in Vientiane featuring the Siamese and Khmer architectural characteristics, Haw Phra Kaeo, which is famous for its delicate wood carvings, as well as Pha That Luang, which is praised as a holy land of Buddhism. Later, we will climb Patuxai, which was built for celebrating the Lao's independence. 

In the afternoon, you will be guided to the Buddha Park to appreciate various Buddha sculptures.

After breakfast, we will drive southwards along Road 13 to explore the Phou Hin Boun National Park. Under the company of your guide, you will visit Wat Prabath Phonsane, which is known as Temple of the Footprint of Buddha, Phou Hin Poun NPA (National Protected Area), which is famous for karst landscapes, forests and rice paddies. After the visit, you will be guided to Ban Tiou Village and then the rest of the day will be at your disposal.

In the morning, we will set out to Kong Lor Cave by Sampan and then explore the cave on foot. After getting out of the cave from the other side, we will visit some local villages, where you will see the traditional local architecture and learn about their unique culture. At the end of day, your guide will lead you back to the hotel to have a good rest.

After breakfast, we will drive to visit the Mahaxai Caves, an ancient Buddhist grottoes. There are still the lodging places for craftsmen and the altars for monks, which show the traces of the activities here. After finishing the visit, we will continue to drive to Savannakhet and your guide will help you check into the local hotel upon arrival.

After breakfast, we will drive to Pakse, which takes around 4 hours on the way. Upon arrival, you could either take some rest at the hotel or stroll around to feel the charming of this place.

In the morning, your guide will lead you to visit Bolavens Plateau, which is a large production base of coffee and tea. After that, we will view some spectacular waterfalls, including Tad Lo Waterfalls, Tad Yuang and Tad Fane Waterfalls. Today's activities will end with a tea or coffee plantation, giving you an insight into the growing and making process.

In the morning, your guide will first escort you to tour Wat Phou, a stone temple complex in Khmer architectural style, then to visit Tomo Village and Oum Muong Forest Temple. After finishing the visit, we will head to check in at the hotel in Don Khong.

After breakfast, we will cruise to Si Phan Don (Four Thousand Islands), which boasts picturesque natural views and is a paradise in Laos. After some relaxing time on the cruise, your guide will lead you to see the beautiful Liphi Waterfalls, the longest falls in the world and then Ban Khone fisherman Village to experience the fisherman's lifestyle. Later during the return trip, we will drive to Lao-Cambodia border at Weukham and see the South East Asia's biggest waterfall, Khone Phapheng Falls. Then you will be driven back to Pakse.
