Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa, Airport pick-up & City tour Thanks for choosing our tours! When you arrive at Bole International Airport, our representative will pick you up and send you to the hotel for checking in. After, we will take you to visit National Museum of Ethiopia to learn the history of the country and appreciate its treasures. Next, we will visit the nearby Holy Trinity Church. In the evening, we will go to Merkcato, the biggest open-air fair in Africa. Accommodation: Radison Blue Hotel (5 stars)
Day 2: Fly 1H to Bahir Dar, Enjoy relaxing boat trip on Lake Tana Today the guide will accompany you to fly to Bahir Dar first. After arriving, we will take a car to Lake Tana to enjoy a boat trip. We will also go to monastery and round grass-roofed churches, including Ura Kidane Meret, Azuwa Maryam and Zege peninsula. On the way back, you can watch hippos at the entrance of Blue Nile in the southeast of the Lake Tana. In the afternoon, we will visit the Palace of Emperor Selassie. In the rest of the day, the tour guide will lead you to the local bazaar to admire Bahir Dar's crafts and learn local community's culture. Meals: Breakfast Accommodation: Kuriftu Resort (4 stars)
Day 3: Private transfer to Simien Mountains NP for short safari Today we will drive to Simien Mountains National Park, which could take 6-7 hours on the way. So it is recommended that you have a full breakfast. Simien Mountains was listed as one of UNESCO World Nature Heritage Sites in 1996 due to its unique natural landscape and endemic flora and fauna. After arriving at the destination in the afternoon, the guide and scout will accompany you on a 2-3 hours' hike in the park, to seek unique mammals and enjoy the exclusive landscapes. While on the safari hiking, you can interact closely with the friendly Gelada Baboons. After the trekking, we will hike to the lodge and enjoy the sunset. Day 4: Continue driving to Gonder, Half day tour to Fasil Ghebbi (3-4h, 130km) In the morning we will drive to Gonder. Halfway, make a stop to visit the Amhara Community Villages. In the afternoon we will drive for about 30 minutes to visit Fasil Ghebbi, the 17th century Castles of the Gonderian Emperors. Then we visit Debre Berhan Selassie Church. On the ceiling are murals of Ethiopian Orthodox angels and the guide will explain you the Biblical stories the murals are telling. Meals: Breakfast Accommodation: Goha Hotel (3 stars)
Day 5: Fly to Lalibela, Explore the spectacular Rock-Hewn Churches On the fifth day, the guide will accompany you to fly to Lalibela. After arriving, we will visit the 11 Rock-Hewan Churches of Lalibela, which is known for its rock church that dates back 800 years. Next we are going to St. George Church, the most spectacular church in Lalibela. It is the representative of the whole church group and is still the top choice for many Christians meet and worship. Day 6: Morning flight back to Addis Ababa, Airport See-off We will head to Lalibela Airport to take the flight to Addis Ababa. Your trip will then come to an end. Have a pleasant journey home! Meals: Breakfast
