Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap, Airport pick-up
On arrival into Siem Reap today, you will be met and taken to the hotel. Get some rest in the hotel.

The Old Market in Siem Reap, located between the famous Pub Street and the riverside, is a bustling and vibrant place to explore at night as well as to taste local foods. After freshening up, you may take a tuk-tuk there to see the dazzling variety of goods in this traditional market and experience Siem Reap nightlife in the Pub Street.
Day 2: Angkor temples exploration with sunrise and sunset views
Your guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel earlier this morning and take you to watch the spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat. After sunrise view, you will get back to the hotel for breakfast, or if you wish, we can also arrange a breakfast box for you to have a picnic at site.

Then, you will visit the Angkor Wat, which was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1992, and is regarded as one of the Four Wonders of the Orient. Magnificent buildings and elegant reliefs here well represent the Khmer classical architectural art. Afterwards, you will be accompanied to go sightseeing around the Angkor Thom, the former capital of the Khmer Empire (802 - 1431), where there are many relics of that period. The most famous are the Bayon Temple with 216 smiling faces carved on 54 Gothic towers, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, which are covered with exquisitely carved bas-reliefs.

In the afternoon, you will first visit the Tomb Raider temple of Ta Prohm, which is entirely covered in trees. Then, head for the Bakheng Temple on top of a hill to overlook the full view of the Angkor Wat complex and admire the stunning sunset view. Tonight, you will enjoy a buffet of traditional Cambodian cuisine and an Apsara Dance Show at a famous restaurant.

Day 3: Full day Angkor temples exploration
Continue your Angkor temples tour today. After having breakfast in the hotel, you will be driven out of Siem Reap for around one hour to the Rolous Group, which was built in the 9th century and was the first capital of the Khmer Empire. Being off the beaten path, they are not as crowded as the Angkor Wat and temples around, so you can make a more leisurely visit to the three highlight temples of Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei. Your guide will take you to discover the history of the Khmer Empire and its stunning architecture.

In the afternoon, you will be taken to visit Banteay Srei, also called the Queen's Palace, which is the most exquisitely carved temple in the Angkor Imperial City, famous for its bright colors and delicate reliefs and known as the "Jewel in Angkor Art". Then you will get back to Siem Reap and enjoy a countryside tour along the way to see rural life scenes. The last stop today is Preah Khan, a temple with a maze of vaulted corridors, fine carvings and lichen-clad stonework. In the end, we will transfer you back to the hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Take a boat trip to the floating village, Fly to Phnom Penh
Please check out from the hotel this morning and then you will be driven to the Tonle Sap Lake. En route, you will visit a Khmer village, where most families are living by weaving baskets with palm leaves. You will be invited to visit a family home to see more about their lifestyle. On arrival at the lake, you will take a boat to travel around the floating village. All villagers in the floating houses are Vietnamese, not Cambodians. Why? Come to uncover the history.

In the afternoon, you be escorted to the airport for a one-hour flight to Phnom Penh. Your local guide and driver will be waiting for you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Meals: Breakfast

Day 5: Full day Phnom Penh city highlights
Today, you will explore Phnom Penh, the capital as well as the largest city in Cambodia. The first stop is the Royal Palace, which was built as a royal residence for the King of Cambodia and now is still a living place for royal families. Among all buildings open to public, the Throne Hall, which are used to hold royal and religious ceremonies, and the Silver Pagoda with many national treasures including Buddha statues made of gold and precious stones, are the most splendid parts. Next, you will visit the National Museum, where the historic relics of the Khmer Empire are on display.

Have you ever heard the Khmer Rouge, also called Red Khmers? It was a brutal regime that ruled Cambodia for four years from 1975 to 1979. The massacre and various atrocities of that period have left deep wounds on Cambodians. This afternoon, you will have a chance to visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, where the so-called Security Prison 21 (S-21) once operated, and the Killing Fields of Choeung EK. If lucky enough, you will meet with a survivor who is usually at site and listen to his story.

Kindly Reminder:
The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh is temporarily closed. If it still cannot be visited at the time you travel, the guide will discuss with you and change to another site according to your interest. We appreciate your understanding.

There are great photo opportunities here.

Continue to drive and stop at the Angkor Borei Town in Ta Keo province, which was the capital city of ancient Hindu Kingdom of Funan and regarded as "the Cradle of Khmer Civilization." Here, you will visit the pre-Angkorian temples of Phnom Da and Asram Maharosei, which are important archeological sites in Cambodia.

When arriving at Kep, you will check into a beach resort to rest and relax.

The owner of the farm will introduce in more details. Around noon, you will enjoy a tasty lunch cooked with different kinds of fresh peppers in the farm.

The sunrise over the Angkor Wat in the early morning was so charming that we took hundreds of pictures. The Apsara Dinner Show was also enjoyable in a restaurant after touring Angkor Wat.

The 8 day Cambodia trip was quite substantial! And the excellent hotel environment made our trip very comfortable! Tara Angkor Hotel was absolutely the best hotel I had stayed in with my husband on the trip. Everything was perfect! The rooms were big and spotless. The pool and spa were also beautiful. And the staff was courteous! Satisfying!

The 8 days Cambodia tour was very happy! The tour guides were very professional and humorous, and their oral English was quite standard! The explanations depicted a spectacular scene of ancient Khmer civilization, the change of religion and the faith life of the Cambodian people.

We were taken good care of when sightseeing. Also, they contacted us in advance to explain the precautions. We could be picked up by a private tour car with a comfortable space. In a word, I will recommend this tour route to my friends!

    This route was awesome!

I want to thank the travel specialist Doris. She was always patient to answer our questions and dedicated to customizing our 8 days Cambodia trip. We were so pleased with all the details. The car was in good condition and we felt comfortable on the ride.

I like the boat trip most. I felt very relaxed on Tonle Sap Lake and Mekong Island. The rural landscape was natural and graceful. We were also left enough time to explore the beauty on our own. It was quite free!
