Maputo: As the capital of Mozambique, Maputo is one of the cleanest and most hospitable one in Africa with surprisingly much to do including the wildlife tours and various city activities.

Vilanculos: Vilanculos is a small town on the coast of Mozambique. The tourism here largely benefits from its convenient location as a base for exploring the Bazaruto archipelagos.

Inhambane: Inhambane is the second largest city in southern Mozambique. This vibrant and adventurous place, filled with top beaches, restaurants and bars, is a perfect stopover in southern Mozambique.

Pemba: Pemba, the gateway to Quirimbas archipelago and Nyassa National Reserve, is the most popular tourist city in northern Mozambique.

Bazaruto archipelagos: Just 11 kilometers (7 miles) off the coast of Mozambique, the Bazaruto archipelagos consist of five pristine islands with unspoiled white sandy beaches, healthy coral reefs and Marine parks. Snorkeling and scuba diving are the activities that shouldn’t be missed here.

Quirimbas archipelagos: Made up of four main islands namely Ibo, Medjumbe, Vamizi and Matemo, Quirimbas archipelagos stretch for more than 250 kilometers (155 miles). Dolphins and whales hang out in nearby waters, and the desolate beaches here are not only amazing, but incredibly peaceful.

Portuguese is the official language in Mozambique. The ethnic groups also have their own languages, most of which are Bantu languages. In addition, English and French are also widely used in the major cities.

Mozambique is relatively safe and it’s trouble-free to most sightseeing places. However, you should still remain vigilant and take all possible precautions during the trip. As long as you follow the guide’s instructions, you will be very safe.

Tipping is not customary in Mozambique, but is becoming more common in some establishments, restaurants and hotels in tourist areas. However, it’s not entirely necessary.
