Iceland Winter Tour

Today is a great day. We will visit the shocking natural wonders in Golden Circle including Thingvellir Nantional Park with fantastic landscape and home to Iceland's Great Rift Valley, the Geysir Hot Spring being active for 800 years, and Golden Waterfall - Gullfoss. After visiting the natural landscapes, visit the Friðheimar farm with geothermal hothouse and taste the fresh tomatoes.

At the beginning of today's tour, experience a volcanic eruption at Lava Center and learn about the formation process of Iceland. Next, visit the fantastic Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and Skogafoss Waterfall, together with Skogar Folk Museum, which showcases the technologies and agriculture of the Iceland. The last stop is the black sand volcanic beach near Vik I Myrdal, where you can see the stone arches and Reynisdrangar basalt columns. Tonight, our driver guide will recommend places to watch the Northern Lights based on weather conditions.

Have breakfast at the hotel and head to Skaftafell Area to have an interstellar tour. Then arrive at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon which looks like an alien planet. The glacier lagoon is formed because of global warming. Diamond Beach nearby was formed by the melting glacier washing against the beach. After dinner at the hotel, you may wear warm clothes to search for the Northern Lights.

On the 5th day, we'll drive to East Fjords. When passing by the No.1 Ring Road, you can see the capricious sight on one side and the roaring waves of the North Atlantic Ocean on the other side. Along the way, we will stop at the small villages of Stoðvarfjorður and Faskruðsfjorður. Finally we’ll arrive at Lake Myvatn Area. After checking in the hotel, you can choose to relax at the hotel or go to Myvatn Nature Baths to enjoy the warm alkaline geothermal lagoon and sauna at your own expense and appreciate the mountain scenery.

Because of its elevation and topography, Lake Myvatn Area is one of the best places to admire Nothern Lights. Thus, we strongly suggest you to keep an eye on it tonight.

Continue visiting Lake Myvatn, whose surroundings are like alien planets. The Namaskard Pass and Skutustadir pseudo craters are like the landforms during prehistoric age. After visiting Godafoss, explore Akureyri town freely and then drive to Skagafjordur and stay overnight.

On the 7th day we'll drive along Borgarfjordur to visit Deildartunguhver Hot Spring, and then visit Hraunfossar and Barnafoss. After visiting historical sites in Reykholt, return to Reykjavik and spend a leisure night.
