Iceland Highlights with Golden Circle

Today will be a long day. The upcoming journey covering 440 km (270 mi) will take about 10-11 hours, during which we will visit charming village in Borgarnes, Bjarnarfoss waterfall, and the church in Budir. The church is surrounded by beautiful scenery. On its one side is the coastline and the other side is mountains. You can also see the lava fields and the tombs. From Budir church, you can take a walk to the beach to see the volcanic sand and lava rocks left by the earthquake. On the way, we will also visit the famous Snaefellsjokull glacier, and Arnarstapi, a bustling port whose surrounding columnar basalt and lava bed are spectacular. The following highlights are black pebbled beach Djupalonsandur, Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall and the must-visit Kirkjufell Mountain. Located between two glaciers, Kirkjufell Mountain is one of the 10 most beautiful mountains in the world. The layers of Kirkjufell Molunatin are the results of volcanic eruptions. At the end of the day, send you back to the hotel in Reykjavik.

The exciting day tour will start from Thingvellir National Park in Golden Circle. The national park, with Snæfellsnes National Park and Vatnajokull National Park together, are listed as the top three national parks in Iceland. Not far away are our next two stops, the Geyser Valley and the Gullfoss Waterfall. Around noon, we'll have lunch at Friðheimar Farm, a tomato paradise. We will also go to visit the Secret Lagoon.

After breakfast, drive through Hellisheidi mountain pass to visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall. After, move on to the untraversed Gljufrabui Waterfall overgrown with rocks and surrounded by cliffs and then the majestic Skogafoss Waterfall. Skogafoss Waterfall has a cascade drop of 60 meters (200 feet) which creates rainbows on sunny days. This afternoon, we'll visit Dyrholaey. The huge black lava column waving into the sea for 120 meters (4,724 feet) looks like an arched door. Then, take a walk on Reynisfjara black beach. On the way back to Reykjavik, have a stop to visit Solheimajokull glacier. As the glacier tongue of the 4th largest glacier in Iceland, Solheimajokull glacier has rich ice formations like crevasses, rugged ridges and sinkholes. Stay overnight in Reykjavik.

On the departure day, if you have time in the morning, you may choose to explore the city center by yourself or take an optional tour to Blue Lagoon to enjoy geothermal hot spring which will be a memorable experience. We'll transfer you to the airport at the appointed time.
