Day 1: Saariselkä Arrival & Free Afternoon Are you ready to witness the Northern Lights in Finland? Upon your arrival at the Ivalo airport, our driver will pick you up on time and transfer you to Saariselkä Village for hotel check-in. Located in northern Lapland, Saariselkä is the largest and northernmost region of Finland and is famous for its beautiful northern sceneries, fresh air and primitive nature. As the northernmost tourist attraction on earth, the natural landscape of Saariselkä is very different from other parts of Finland. Due to the special polar climate, there are no tall trees here, only small bushes like taiga fighting stubbornly against the severe coldness. From May 22 to July 20 is the polar day period here, and from December 4 to January 8 is the polar night period. The village is located in a waterfall area. After check-in, you are free to explore the surroundings by yourself. Accommodation: Hotel in Saariselkä
Day 2: Snowmobile Safari & Aurora Borealis Adventure (Shared Tour) An exciting day starts with a snowmobile safari. The 3-hour shared snowmobile safari trip will lead you to a reindeer farm. There, the Saami host will introduce to you the life of the locals in Lapland and the reindeer farming. You will also have the chance to learn how to drive a reindeer sleigh by yourself. In the evening, we will arrange a shared minibus tour to the best place to see the aurora. You can walk in the nearby forest, or sit by the open fire to watch the northern lights quietly and taste local snacks. After, the bus will send you back to the city center, and then you can go to your hotel in Saariselkä on your own. Day 3: Glass Igloo Resort & Shared Dog-sled Adventure After breakfast in the hotel, we will travel to the wilderness and reach the Glass Igloo Resort, a magnificent place for a winter break in Finland. The hotel owns picturesque surroundings and provides a range of activities including snowmobiling, husky sledding and snowshoeing. In the evening, you will have a chance to stay in the newly built Aurora glass cabins of this hotel. These cabins are equipped with private sauna facilities with fireplace and panoramic glass windows, making them great places to watch the Aurora warmly and comfortably. In Finland, the Northern lights not only occur in winter but also can be observed on dark nights at any time of the year. Away from the dazzling city and artificial lights, Saariselkä is a perfect place to view the Aurora. After a short rest upon arrival, the joyful shared husky safari will bring a climax to the itinerary. In pairs, one driver with one passenger, will drive through the region excitingly and it will for sure be your life-long memory. Day 4: Free morning & Afternoon Departure Today is your departure day. You could seize the chance to explore more about the Glass Igloo Resort by yourself in the morning. Then at the agreed time, our driver will transfer you to Ivalo airport. If you plan to leave from other cities, please let us know in advance so we can arrange it for you accordingly.
