WT-Estonia 02: 8 Days Trip of Estonia: Tallinn - Saaremaa - Lahemaa
Day 1: Arrival in Estonia

You will arrive in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia by plane. If you get there early, you can walk around to get yourself familiar with the city.

Day 2: Tallinn

Tallinn is surrounded by water on three sides. Featured with pretty and antique scenery, it is the only city which still keeps the medieval look and style throughout Northern Europe. Tallinn is divided into the new city and the old city, which enjoys the reputation of “the Crossroad of Europe”. You will be showed around the old city by walk in the morning. During the journey, you will visit the Toompea Castle, one of the most ancient architectures in Estonia, the Dome Church, the imposing and splendid Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval Old Town Hall. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Kadriorg Park to visit the Kadriorg palace and the art collection in it.

Day 3: Tallinn - Saaremaa

In the morning, you will take a tour of Haapsalu, which is a good place far away from the crowds and noisy of Tallinn. Haapsalu’s history is tracked back to 1291, so you will travel through the center of the city to visit the historical sites of the old castle. Afterwards you will get to Virtsu and take a ferryboat there to Kuivastu in Muhu Island.

Day 4: Saaremaa

Saaremaa is the largest island in Estonia and you will start your journey from Kuressaare, the biggest town on the island. You will have a sightseeing of many architectures of high historical value, which include Baroque, Gothic and Classical style. When you are traveling throughout the town, you will get a chance to visit the Episcopal Castle, the best-preserved mediaeval castle in Estonia. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to see the famous windmill in Angla and then visit the St. Catherine’s Church in Karja. Afterwards you will drive back to Kuressaare.

Day 5: Saaremaa - Lahemaa

You will return to the mainland by ferryboat, afterwards you will travel south to go to Parnu, which is the leading seaside health resort and a summer resort in Estonia. You can enjoy the exotic scenery and beautiful seaside here. After lunch, you will transfer north to have a tour of Rakvere, a peaceful small town, which is famous for the Hanseatic legacy. Here, you will visit the Rakvere Castle, then proceed to visit the Lahemaa National Park and the Vihula Manor.

Day 6: Lahemaa

You will spend the whole day in the Lahemaa National Park, which is the largest national park in Estonia and famous for its fascinating natural landscape. There are plenty of wild animals and plants, as well as original rivers and lakes in the park. Afterwards, you will visit the Palmse Manor and Sagadi Manor, the former had ever been owned by Von Prahlen family and the later one is a Manor rebuilt in the 17th century.

Day 7: Lahemaa

Today is free on your own. You can spend your day on taking a close look at these Manors and taking photos there. Or you can further explore the Lahemaa National Park and record the beautiful scenery in your mind completely.

Day 8: Departure from Estonia

This fantastic journey of Estonia will come to an end after you transfer to the airport and take a flight departing from Estonia.
