Today, we are going to visit 4 attractions in Lima: San Martin Plaza, Plaza de Armas, Monastery of San Francisco, and Larco Museum.
San Martin Plaza, near Plaza de Armas, is named after the father of the liberation of South America. In the middle of the square stands a statue of General San Martin with a prancing horse. Then we will go to Plaza de Armas, which is located in the old city and is the spiritual and cultural center of Lima. There are many Spanish colonial buildings on the square. The Baroque architecture of Monastery of San Francisco is located northeast of Plaza de Armas, and its granite carvings had a profound influence on the construction of other churches. It was listed as a World Heritage site in 1991. The monastery's library is world-famous for its thousands of ancient texts. Discovered in 1943, the catacombs of this church contain thousands of skulls and is totally worth visiting. Finally, we will visit Larco Museum to appreciate numerous fine collections.
After that, we will send you to the airport to take a flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival, we will pick you up and send you to the hotel.
