Day 1: Colombo Airport Pick-up, Private Transfer to Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! When your flight lands in Colombo, your driver guide will warmly meet you at the airport. Since Negombo is closer to the airport than Colombo, we will drive you to the hotel in Negombo, which takes about half an hour. For the rest of the day, you may take a break in the hotel or explore the city on your own.

 Tips on Exchanging Money
Sri Lankan rupee (LKR or Rs) is the currency used in Sri Lanka. 1 US dollar is about 290 Sri Lankan rupees. You don’t need to exchange the money before arriving in Sri Lanka. It is most recommended to exchange money at the counters at the airport, most of which are open 24/7 and are more convenient and reliable.

 SIM Card
You may choose a tourist SIM card from Dialog - the largest mobile network provider in Sri Lanka. Dialog offers wide signal coverage and strong signal with cheaper price than other providers. There are three popular prepaid plans: LKR 1,400 (USD 5) with 20 GB of data, LKR 1,800 (USD 6) with 30 GB of data, and LKR 2,450 (USD 8.5) with 50 GB of data, all valid for 30 days. You may purchase the card either at the airport or in an official store in major cities.

Recommended Activity for Early Arrival in Negombo
The hotel we selected for you is located next to Negombo Beach. You may take a dip in the pool and enjoy the amazing sea view in the hotel, or stroll on the beach and take some photos at sunset. Along the beach there are many authentic seafood restaurants and western restaurants. Lords Restaurant Complex (80 B Poroutha Road, Etthukala, Negombo Beach 11500) is a good choice for dinner, which can be reached by 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. With modern Sri Lankan art works throughout the restaurant and live music every night, it offers creative ambiance and unique dining experience. Try a seafood platter and some traditional curry in the good vibe. It costs about USD 10 per person.
