Pack clothing for the tropical weather, but be respectful. When visiting temples, you should dress properly. Most temples will give you a sarong or a shawl to cover your legs and shoulders during the visit. Besides, always asking for permission before taking photos especially when there are religious rituals.
Is it safe to travel to Indonesia?
Yes, Indonesia is generally safe to travel especially if you are going to popular destinations like Bali and Yogyakarta. Most of the local people are welcoming and friendly to tourists. Be aware that due to its geographical location, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are relatively common on the islands, but they are usually small and you need not worry too much.
Can I try the street food during my tours of Indonesia?
Of course. Eating street food is a must try when traveling. There are many delicious local delicacies such as: Nasi Goreng - fried rice, Satay - actually kebab, Bebek Betutu, Bintang - the local beer, coconut shake and so on. If you want to have a taste, your local guide can be a great help. Please note that it’s not recommended to try self-made drinks from street vendors because they are probably made from tap water and may cause severe diarrhea.
