Tanzania Tarangire & Ngorongoro Safaris

Thanks for booking the 3 days Tanzania safari! After breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha on time. We'll first make a stop at Arusha Town for you to shop some necessary equipment for the following safari. Then we will drive directly to Tarangire National Park, which will take about 3 hours. After arrival, we will enjoy a picnic lunch at designed picnic area of the park. Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania, famous for its high concentration of elephants, ancient baobab trees as well as African rock pythons. Even during the dry season from late June to October, thousands of animals including zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, monkeys and predators like lions and leopards will crowd around the life-giving Tarangire River for fresh water, which offers visitors a great game viewing experience.

After breakfast, we will set off for the game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, located 110 km (68 mi) away. It takes about 3 hours to drive there. The park is widely known for breathtaking scenery containing beautiful soda lake, lush woodlands and steep mountainside, and the home to unusual tree-climbing lions and Africa's largest herd of baboons. Lake Manyara at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, once called “the loveliest place in Africa” by Ernest Hemingway, is a paradise for birds, with over 400 spices of birdlife including thousands of flamingos, pelican and spoonbills inhabiting around the lake and swamps. You can spot 100 different kinds of birds at any given day. In the late afternoon, we will drive to check in the lodge at Karatu District and have dinner.

On the last day of the 3 days Tanzania safari, we need to start early today. After breakfast, we will drive east for 21 km (13 mi) to Ngorongoro Conservation Area to visit Ngorongoro Crater, a spectacular natural wonder formed 2 or 3 million years ago and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It is the largest inactive and unbroken volcanic caldera in the world, measuring about 16-19 km in diameter (9-12 mi) and 610 meters (2,000 feet) in depth. Reputed as "the Eden of Africa", the super 'bowl' houses an incredible ecosystem for diverse scenery and a wide range of globally threatened animals and birds. During the game drive, you may see herds of zebras, gazelles, lions, leopards, hyenas and come across the endangered black rhinos if lucky. Lake Magadi at southwest corner of the crater often inhabited by silver-checked hornbill, grey crowned cranes, flamingos and other water birds.

When the safari come to the end, we will send you back to your hotel at Arusha via a 3-hour drive.
