Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Fort Portal, Sightseeing on the way
Thanks for choosing our Uganda tour packages! In the morning, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala. We'll drive for about 5 hours for 300 km (186 miles) to Fort Portal. Along the way, you will admire the mountains of Mubende, small towns and villages, and then stop at Nakayima tree. The name of Nakayima tree comes from the wife of Ndahura (a famous Muchwezi ruler), Nakayima, who planted it. After listening to the on-site tour guide's commentary, we'll drive for about 2 hours to Fort Portal.

After arriving at Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves, you will first have lunch. Then we will start a walking tour on Fort Portal Crater Lake field, crossing a challenging slope on Kyeganyawa hill surrounded by many crater lakes and crater hollows. When the sky is clear, standing on the top of Kyeganyawa hill, you can see Rwenzori Mountain. After that, we will continue to drive to Fort Portal for rest.

Day 2: Full day tour in Fort Portal
After breakfast, you will visit the Royal Palace, overlooking the Fort Portal town in the shadow of the Mountain of the Moon. Then visit Karambi Royal tombs and the tombs of the Tooroo kings, including the tomb of King Kaboyo, the founding father. After lunch, you will attend the Batooro name giving ceremony.

Day 3: Transfer from Fort Portal to Nshenyi Cultural Village (235 km, 4hs)
On the third day, we'll drive to Nshenyi Cultural Village in Ntungamo district. On the way, we will pass through beautiful villages and feel the beauty of Uganda's countryside. You will visit the residence of the locals in Mbarara and finally reach Ntungamo. Nshenyi Cultural Village is about an hour's drive from Mbarara and a 30-minute drive from Ntungamo.

Day 4: Learn about Banyankole Culture in Nshenyi Village
The fourth day leads you to explore the traditional culture of Banyankole. You will participate in the traditional manual milking of the Ankole cattle, learn the methods of raising cattle, the naming of cattle, brush the cattle, and follow the herders to learn how to use musical instruments such as flutes and sing traditional songs in the ranch. Enjoy a traditional lunch here. If you are interested, you can also participate in the lunch preparation process. Afterwards, you can take a handcraft class, an impressive tour of the construction hut, and then walk to the community to explore the locals' lifestyle.

Day 5: Head for Mgahinga National Park (150km, 3hs)
After breakfast, we'll drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. We will pass through the Kigezi Highlands with good reputation of "Switzerland of Africa" and the scenic road Kisoro in Kabale and then reach Virunga Volcanoes. You will settle down in the afternoon. The rest of the time is free.

Day 6: Spending full day to explore the Batwa culture
After breakfast, you are going to explore Batwa Heritage. First go to Ntebeko, the headquarter of Mgahinga National Park to have a brief introduction and then enter the forest. Following the guide of Batwa, you'll explore their cultural heritage along the Batwa trail. Before arriving at the Garama Crave, you will learn about wild honey collecting methods and hunting methods, and distinguish traditional medicinal plants, edible roots and plants. The whole activity will last about 6-7 hours.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala with a stopover
After breakfast, return to Kampala by car for approximately 11 hours over 520 km (323 miles). On the way, we will stop at the 1520AD eclipse monument to overlook the Igongo Culture Center. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening.

Day 8: Kampala city tour, airport see-off
On the last day, we'll explore the historical sites of Kampala. You will visit Kasubi tombs, Lubiri Palace, the Bulange Parliament, Kabaka's Lake and Uganda Museum and wander in the handicraft market. Afterwards, you will be sent to Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight. Hope you have a smooth journey!
