Day 1: Arrival in Togo
You will fly to Lome, the capital of Togo. Located in western Africa, Togo is a land filled with lagoons. Southern Togo is tropical rainy climate zones while northern Togo is tropical savanna climate zones. As a world-famous city, Lome is also the political, economic, and cultural center of Togo. Over the last decade, the tourism industry in Lome has witnessed great development. With convenient transportation, countless tourists come to Lome for its bright sunshine, golden sandbeach, azure seawater and lush tropical plants every year. Upon arrival, you can visit many places of interest like Independence Square, national Museum, Lome craftsmen village and Lome Central market.
Day 2: Lake Togo
After leaving Lome, you will drive through coconut groves towards Agbodrafo. On arrival, you will visit the ancient slave dungeons first and then go to the Pedakondji fishermens village, where you can learn the local people’s living habits, customs and culture. After that, you will reach Glidji, the holy place of spirit for Guen tribe in Togo where tourists can meet the priest of the sacred mountain and get to know the ceremony of the raising of the sacred stone as well as visit the shrine. Then, you will take pleasure boats to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Togo. The next stop is Togoville, a place of many attracting scenic spots including ancient German Cathedral and traditional museum of the King of Togoville. After all day’s visit, you will return to Lome.
Day 3: Kloto
Today, you will leave Lome for the third largest city in Togo - Kpalime. On the way, you will make a stop at funerary monuments as well as surrounding typical villages and markets. If that day is also a school day, you may visit a school to know more about the school education there. Later, you may visit the cocoa plantations at the foot of the highest mountain in Togo - Mount Agou. After reaching Kpalime, you will first visit Kloto Craft Center and then drive to “Campement”, an old German sanatorium perched atop the Mount Kloto. In the afternoon, you will pay a visit to a local village in Kpalime to learn customs of real Ewes. At last, you will return to Lome.
Day 4: Voodoo Rituals
In the morning, you will proceed to Voodoo village. On arrival, you will first pay a visit to the prime priest to get a basic understanding of Voodoo and its rituals. Derived from western Africa, Voodoo is an original religion combining the worship to ancestors, animism and mediumship. Traditional and Typical Voodoo rituals include two parts: initiation rites to special music, mainly drumbeat, and manje-lwa. The local people believe that human beings can communicate with the sacred beyond vital bodies and therefore can get help as well as enlighten. After the visit, you will go back to Lome.
Day 5: Sio River
The first stop today is Dzagle village where you can visit the funerary monuments and the fetish tree. Later, you will proceed to Yogon village to meet with the village head and visit the palaces there. After that, you will go to Lebe village and take a cruise tour on Sio River. Then, the next stop is the romantic Devego village. At last, you will return to Lome.
Day 6: Lome
The whole day is at your disposal. You can enjoy the sunbath at the beach or wandering through the streets and lanes in Lome. Just relax yourself.
Day 7: Departure from Togo
You will take the morning flight leaving Togo, leaving this fantastic place which has given you many beautiful memories,
