Culture and Heritage of Qatar

In the morning, we will drive for about 30 minutes to Mesaieed in the south for Desert Safari. First, we will experience a short Camel Ride, and then take a 4-wheel-drive SUV to enjoy a thrilling dune bashing trip on the sand dunes. Later, we will drive through the picturesque and serene desert, passing by Singing Sand Dunes. Along the way, we will stop at the viewing point for you to admire the panoramic scenery of the desert from distance.

In the afternoon, we'll first visit the Souq Waqif with distinctive Arabic characteristics built on the ancient market site, where hundreds of shops open, and the products are dazzling and varied. The Falcon Souq is the highlight here. Then visit the Museum of the Islamic Art, a landmark building in Qatar. After, drive through Corniche, stop at Dhow Harbour and West Bay to take pictures. Next, proceed to visit Katara Cultural Village and the artificial island the Pearl-Qatar Island. Katara Cultural Village, located on the waterfront of Doha, is a storehouse of Qatari art and the recreational center to replicate the Qatari culture. It is also a leisure point to admire the architectural beauty. Pearl-Qatar Island featuring a distinctive Mediterranean style, is a highly developed and luxurious region of Qatar and a popular attraction for discovering the architectural beauty.

This morning is left free for you. You could explore National Museum of Qatar, Islamic Culture Center, Grand Mosque and the Corniche by yourself.

In the afternoon, we will show you around the east-west area of Doha. After around 1 hour's drive, we will firstly arrive at Zekreet Beach. We will leave several time for you to enjoy the scenery of this pristine beach connected with cliffs, pillars and rocks in unique formations. Next, let's move further into Zekreet and drop by Zekreet Village. Finally we will arrive at the Richard Serra Sculptures - East-West/West-East. Located in the west of Qatar desert, these sculptures are a kind of installation art composed of four 14 meters high steel plates. They are accomplished by Richard Serra in 2014. Before driving back to Doha city center, do not forget to discover the mushroom-like limestone rock formations. In the evening, please have a good rest in your hotel.

After breakfast, you can spend a leisurely time on your own. In the afternoon, we are going to visit the seaport town of Al Khor. Then, continue to the Purple Island, a must-visit island famous for its natural beauty. After that, drive to Al Zubara to visit Al Zubara Fortress Museum, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and plays a very important role in archaeology. The next destination is the Shadow Travelling on the Sea of the Day by Olafur Eliasson. Getting in touch with the mirrors and the desert at zero distance, you will find the splendor and complexity of the surroundings. This artwork is created to improve people's awareness towards climate crisis. Following is the Al Jumail which is an abandoned village. This village is currently a popular destination for family weekend.

In the evening, the driver guide will pick you at the hotel and lead you to the traditional wooden Dhow to sail on the Persian Gulf and appreciate the night scene. The cruise will last for about 30-45 minutes. After, transfer you back to the hotel.
