China High Speed Train (Bullet Train)

China high speed train is also called bullet train or fast train, prefixed with G, D or C. Every day, more than 2,800 China bullet trains run along China high speed rail which covers 33 out of 34 provinces of China, at a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). With only about 4.5 hours, the G trains are able to complete the journey of 1,318 kilometers (819 miles) between Beijing and Shanghai.

Facilities of China High Speed Trains

The facilities in China high speed trains are of high standard. There are luggage racks, dining cars, food trolley, western - style toilets and etc.

Luggage racks are often located over the seats, which are for bags and suitcase of normal size. If you carry a lot of luggage or large luggage which cannot be put in the rack, you can take it to the luggage closets which are usually in the junction of two cabins.

If you want to eat something, you can come to the dining carriage where wine, beer, pre-packed meals and so on are offered. Or you can just sit on your seat to wait for the food trolley and buy some foods and beverage there.

Toilets in high speed trains are mostly in western type. In some D trains, both western toilet and squat toilet are set. Toilet paper is provided and in some trains, disposable seat covers are offered. Moreover, one can find the wash basins either inside or outside of the washrooms.

Additionally, electronic sockets are installed under the seats and the water heater is located at the end of each carriage. All these facilities make sure that passengers have a pleasant time onboard.
