The third day starts with a nice breakfast in the hotel, then our driver (English-speaking driver only) will pick you up on time along the King's highway to Madaba, the "Mosaic City". There you will visit the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in the center of Madaba and admire the masterpiece of Madaba (a Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land that goes back to the 6th century, showing Jerusalem and other cities). In the nearby Madaba Archaeological Park, you can see Byzantine churches, including the Church of the Virgin Mary, and many other original mosaic displays.
Mount Nebo, 8km away from Madaba, is one of Jordan's holy places. It is said that Moses was looking at the "promised land" here. The top of Mount Nebo was 817m (2680 ft.) above sea level. Standing on the observation deck, we could see the Jordan Plain and the Jordan River.
Head to Kerak Castle. Proceed via Wadi Al Mujib, a deep valley holding one of Jordan's most breathtaking views, continue to move forward to Kerak Castle, a Crusader castle from the 11th-12th century. Finally, you will head to Petra, stay overnight and look forward to tomorrow's trip in Petra.
