Varanasi Day Tour
After meeting you at your hotel in the early morning of our Varanasi day tour, our professional guide will help you board a small boat cruising along the holy Ganges River during the sun rise. As the boat slowly moves forward, we can see ancient castles standing on both banks, and most of the buildings are painted in red or brown, shining in the rising sun. Every now and then, beautiful boats that dock along the river give the Ganges a sense of the divine. Moreover, we will witness the two famous ghats: Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat, which are all holy site to hold the cremation ceremony. In addition, the Ganges River also provides the liveliest scene in the morning, like devout Hindus enjoying morning bathe, locals washing clothes, or some drinking a handful of the holy water. According to Hindus faith, Ganges River is capable of purifying mentally and healthily, and washing away all sins.
When we disembark the boat, you will be escorted by our guide to visit the Varanasi city tour with first visit to Bharat Mata Temple, the Mother Temple of Ganges River in literary meaning. Later, we will proceed to the Durga Temple, which is also known as the Monkey temple, because wild monkeys hang out here all the time. Next is to visit the Tulsi Manas Mandir, which is engraved with verses of Ram Charit Manas. Later, we will take a leisurely stroll around the Banaras Hindu University,
In the afternoon, we will continue our Varanasi day tour to the idyllic Deer Park in Sarnath, which is said to be the place where Buddha first delivered sermon. Many Buddhist monuments can be seen in Sarnath, such as the the Dhamekha stupa, the Dharmarajika stupa & the Chaukhandi stupa. Groups of believers come here every year to pay their respects to Buddha. Except for the historic relics of Buddhism, Sarnath is also famous for herds of wild deer running leisurely in the park. We will also not miss the Sarnath Museum, which boasts a large collection of Indian Buddhist art treasure, including more than 300 painting. The most precious treasure of all collections is the Ashoka's stone pillar, which is surrounded by four carved lions.
In the evening, we will see the solemn Ganga Aarti Ceremony, a Hindu ritual that offers lightning lamps and songs to holy deities. At dusk, Hindu devotees and tourists from all over India gather here early to await the start of the ancient ritual by the sacred river. To the accompaniment of the traditional Indian music and the sound of brass drums, priests in their ornate costumes commence worshipping the river with sacred fires, conches and flowers, which has not been stopped for thousands of years.
Afterwards, we will transfer you to your hotel, where our Varanasi one day tour service ends.
