Tonle Sap Lake Half Day Tour

At about 15:30, our English-speaking guide will pick you up at your Siem Reap hotel by an air-conditioned minivan, and take you to the port at Chong Kneas, a floating fishermen village along the Tonle Sap Lake. On the way, we will make a stop and visit the lotus fields. Our private guide will explain how the local people take full advantage of this lovely plant. Immersed in the aroma of lotus, you will see the large umbrella-shaped lotus leaves stand densely and jostle to each other, which looks like a waving green sea. With the decoration of pink lotus in blossom, the lotus field forms a picturesque scene for taking nice photos. We will also see the orderly rice paddies along the way. Upon arrival at Chong Kneas, our guide will help you hop aboard a small boat and lead you to visit this floating village by sailing on the Tonle Sap Lake. As the boat glide slowly forward, we will see stilted houses, floating markets, churches and schools, as well as the locals doing daily activities near the lake. Boating along this peaceful village, with birds flying freely overhead from time to time, you will enjoy a wonderful natural scene and feel a different lifestyle by learning about the local culture, traditions and customs from our knowledgeable guide.

Due to the climate, the Tonle Sap Lake, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, provides a wonderful habitation for many species, especially the fish and reptiles. Thus the villagers make a living mainly by fishing. Before we go for a dinner, we will make a stop at a crocodile and fish farm to watch how they operate the aquatic industry. Afterwards, we will head to the Queen Tara Floating Restaurant - the largest boat restaurant on the Tonle Sap Lake for a buffet dinner (vegetarian option available). As you appreciate the beauty of the boundless lake, you can also take a sip at the open bar of the restaurant, which serves beer, cocktails, wine, spirits and soft drinks. Enjoying the Cambodian cuisines, you will witness the sunset around the Tonle Sap Lake. As the colorful sky turns into orange and purple and the gentle light reflection glitters on the vast lake, this Tonle Sap tour will end up with a dinner in the tranquil and romantic atmosphere.

After dinner, our guide will help you board on a small boat and transfer you back to the port. Our driver will wait you there and drive you back to your hotel.
