Agra City Tour of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
Today, our experienced driver will greet you at your hotel lobby in the morning. Then, we will take a cozy air-conditioned vehicle and drive to start our Taj Mahal tour. When we arrive, meet your guide who will escort you to appreciate the charm of Taj Mahal, reputed as one of the World Great Wonders. Constructed from the year of 1631 and completed in 1653, Taj Mahal was all carved out of pure white marble, consisting of palaces, towers, minarets and pools. In addition, this splendid architecture is also decorated with agates and glasses, measuring great art value. One thing cannot miss is that the Taj Mahal was born of love, because the Mughal King Shah Jahan just built this valueless construction for his beloved wife - Mumtaz Mahal.
Enjoy great view of Taj Mahal at sunrise is something you may not want to miss. If you do not mind get up early, we can also start this tour at around 06:00. When we arrive, our guide will first lead you to find a perfect sightseeing place to catch the stunning Taj Mahal at sunrise, and it’s highly recommended to take some photos to record this moment. After you finish the tour, we will drive you back to the hotel for a heavy breakfast first.
Then we will continue our Taj Mahal tour packages to the Agra Fort, also known as the red fort, because it was also made out of red sandstones. Situated at the bank of Yamuna River, the Islamic style fort is surrounded by a 12-meter-high (40-foot-high) red sandstone wall, presenting a magnificent appearance. Entering inside, we will see arrays of palatial complex with delicate carvings and elaborate designs on the painted beams and walls, allowing us traversing to their former grandeur era. The must-see attractions inside include Jehangir’s Palace, Octagonal Tower, Moti Masjid, and so on.
Later, we will show respect to the Tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah, aka Baby Taj, because it is said to be the epitome and construction model for Taj Mahal. The interior of the Baby Taj was ornamented with vast mosaics in complicated geometric formations. Carved marble patterns, such as vase, trees, fruit and wine bottles, can been seen on the surrounding walls, which fully involved in classic Persian style.
At the end of the day, we will head forwards to the Mehtab Bagh, the best sightseeing platform to catch a panoramic view of Taj Mahal. Actually, it is a botanical garden situated on the bank of Yamuna River opposite to Taj Mahal. If weather allows, we will enjoy the stunning sunset view of Taj Mahal from here. In addition, it’s also advisable to take a leisurely strolling inside the garden along the Yamuna River to feel its tranquil atmosphere.
After the guided tour, we will drive you back and drop you off at your hotel. We hope you have spent an unforgettable day in Agra.
