Day 1: Arrival in Delhi, Airport pick-up
Welcome to India! When you arrive in Delhi, our representative will pick you up at the airport on time and transfer you to your hotel. Our representative will also help you with the check-in. During the rest of the day, you can explore Delhi on your own.
Day 2: Old & New Delhi city tour
In the morning, our guided Delhi to Jaisalmer desert safari package will start at the Raj Ghat, the memorial tomb of respectable Gandhi who was the great father of modern India; and Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. We will drive past the iconic Red Fort, the imperial palace of Mughal Empire, built by the emperor Shah Jahan. We will also have a rickshaw ride tour in Chandni Chowk, wander in the busy fair to experience the local customs.
In the afternoon, you will be accompanied to visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the largest worship place of Sikhs in New Delhi, which was built in 17th century; Humayun's Tomb, the imperial mausoleum of the second emperor Humayun of Mughal Empire, as well as a wonderful architecture in history; Qutub Minar, built in 1193 AD to symbolize the victory of Islam in the city; and India Gate, the landmark to demarcate the New Delhi and Old Delhi.
Then, we will drive past the Parliament House, President's House and other Government Secretarial Buildings. Parliament House is solemn combing Indian and Victorian style; President's House used to be the governor's palace in colonial period. At the end of the day, we will drive you back to your hotel.
Day 3: Fly 1.5h from Delhi to Jodhpur & 5-hour drive to Jaisalmer
In the morning, we will take you to the airport for your flight to Jodhpur. On arrival, our Jodhpur driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Jaisalmer by car. On the way, we will leave you stop-over for coffee break or taking photos anytime. When reaching Jaisalmer, we will help you to check in at hotel. The rest time of the day is free for you to get prepared for your Jaisalmer desert safari.
Day 4: Jaisalmer highlights tour with Jaisalmer Fort
Today is a highlight of our Jaisalmer desert tour. Jaisalmer Fort is our first stop of the day. It is the symbol of Jaisalmer built in 1156 AD with yellow sandstones, looking golden in appearance. Then you will be guided to visit old mansion better known as havelies, such as Patwon ki Haveli, the largest and the most luxurious haveli in Jaisalmer with high tower; irregular shaped Nathmalji Ke Haveli, the private house of the Jaisalmer's governor at that time; and Salim Singh Ji Ki Haveli, having a history of more than 300 years.
Afterwards, we will go sightseeing in Manak Chowk market outside the Jaisalmer Fort, enjoying local traditional arts and craft works. We will also go to Gadisar Lake, which is more like a calm reservoir with various birds and fowls inhabit. At the end of the day, we will drive to Sam sand dunes to enjoy the Jaisalmer desert safari. You can take a camel ride (at your own expense) there, seeing the setting sun over the desert.
Day 5: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur by private drive & Jodhpur city tour
We will drive from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur in the morning. We can stop over for coffee break and photo stop on your request. As we arrive in Jodhpur, check in at the hotel first and have a short break.
In the afternoon, you will be guided to visit Mehrangarh Fort, a magnificent ancient castle built on the high mountain, which has seven gates and a history since 1459 AD; you can see the Phool Mahal, the hall of flowers, in Mehrangarh Fort. Jaswant Thada, the next stop, is a royal memorial hall built by the king in 1899 to commemorate his father, from where you can look the Mehrangarh in the distance. Next is Umaid Bhawan Museum, which used to be an ancient palace. Now many relics and photos are displayed there to show people the real imperial life. Then we will hang out at the clock tower area, Sardar Market. You can see the Clock Tower, the landmark of Jodhpur there and learn about local fair and snacks.
Day 6: Drive for 6.5h from Jodhpur to Jaipur
Today, we will drive from Jodhpur to Jaipur. If you want to have a coffee break or take photos on the way, your driver is willing to stop over. On arrival in Jaipur, you will check in at your hotel with the help of your driver. After, you can take a rest or wander nearby as the rest time is free.
Day 7: Jaipur full day tour with Amber Fort
The first stop to visit in Jaipur will be the Amber Fort, an old castle on the mountain looking like ambers in the distance. After a short stopover to see the Jal Mahal, we will visit Maharaja City Palace, built with red or pink sandstones in 1729-1732. It has a combined style of Rajasthan and Mughal. We will also visit Jantar Mantar, the best-persevered ancient observatory with quite a few astronomical instruments, having the largest stone sundial in the world; have a photo stop at Hawa Mahal, also known as the Wind Palace, which is a wonder in the center of Jaipur city with 953 serried windows on the pink walls. Our Jaipur guided tour ends at the Birla Temple, a white Hindu temple devote to the patron saint Vishnu (Narayan) and his wife Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth.
Day 8: Drive for 5h from Jaipur to Agra with visit of Fatehpur Sikri
On the day, we will take you from Jaipur to Agra by car. On the way, we will visit the Chand Baori in Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri. The Chand Baori is a step well built in 9th century with 13 floors and a total of 3,500 steps, like an overturned pyramid or an underground palace. Your baoris sightseeing will be accompanied by your driver. Fatehpur Sikri is an ancient imperial city and we will visit it following a tour guide. It was abandoned for water shortage soon after it was completed. When arrive in Agra, we will help you check in at your hotel.
Day 9: Taj Mahal tour, 3.5-hour drive to Delhi & Airport see-off
On the last day of our Rajasthan desert safari, you will be led to visit the famous Taj Mahal, which is a perfectly architectural wonder worldwide. It is a mausoleum as well as a mosque in memory of the beloved imperial concubine of the emperor Shah Jahan, thus it is also a holly land of love. Then we will visit another UNESCO World Heritage site, the Agra Fort near the Taj Mahal. It was the imperial city in dazzling red with palaces, towers and masjid.
After that, we will drive you back to Delhi and see you off at the Delhi Airport. Your Jaisalmer desert tour ends here. We hope you have a pleasant journey!
Agra Fort: The security check to Agra Fort is very strict with separate passages for women and men. No big bags are allowed. You should take a small bag with your personal belongings only. The professional cameras are also not allowed to take inside, but you could use your cellphone to take pictures.
