Day 1: Airport Pick-up and Delhi Sightseeing
When you arrive at the airport of Delhi, you can see our driver waiting to pick you up holding the board with your name on. Then he will send you to your hotel for a rest. Our guide will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby and help you with the check-in. After a short break, this Delhi 2 day tour starts in the afternoon in the old Delhi.
The first spot of this Delhi 2 day tour package will be Raj Ghat, Gandhi memorial, which is a signal of spirit of India's national independence, as Gandhi was considered as the father of modern India. The memorial is very simple but many people go there in memory of the hero, especially on holidays.
Then, our guide will lead you to appreciate the grand Red Fort from outside, the imperial palace of Mughal Empire (1526-1857 AD). Red Fort is an architecture of Islam style made of red sandstones, looking reddish-brown. We will also visit Jama Masjid, the largest masjid in India and one of the three largest masjids in the world, whose construction lasted for seven years from 1650 to 1656 AD.
After that, we will hang out at Connaught Place, a round square in New Delhi. It is the largest commercial and business center with serried shops and a park in its central place, attracting lots of visitors all year round.
Following, we will visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib near the Connaught Place. It's a worship place of Sikhism open to all people regardless of their races and religions. The gold dome and high Nishan Sahib (flagpole) are amazing and easier to be recognized.
When the day's visit ends here, our guide will send you back to your own booked hotel.
Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing and Airport Drop-off
We will continue our Delhi 2 day tour this morning with Lakshminarayan Temple, which is also called Birla Mandir. It is a white temple with different halls as well as reliefs, sculptures and pillars made of white marbles. You'd better wear clothes that can cover your arms and legs, and you should take off your shoes when you enter the temple.
Then, we will visit along the Rajpath, the east-west avenue in New Delhi. We will make stops at famous spots on the avenue, such as India Gate, India National Museum and passing by Parliament House. India Gate is the gate and landmark of India, looking exactly like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It is originally a war memorial of India.
India National Museum collects the Indian relics from the 3rd century BC to the present, including bronze wares, potteries, carvings, etc. You can see Dunhuang frescoes and Tibetan religion wares from China as well.
Parliament House is in the shape of round plate with multiple white marble columns, combing the architecture styles of traditional Indian and Victorian era.
Afterwards, we will head to the well-preserved Lodhi Garden, the central park of New Delhi. It is beautiful with lush plants, and some tombs of Indian monarchs in 15th and 16th centuries are located there.
Next stop is Qutub Minar. It is a world heritage site that was built in 1193 AD with red sandstones, becoming thinner and thinner from bottom to the top, as high as 72.5 meters (79 yards). It was built to celebrate the victory of Islam in the city at that time.
Following is Humayun's Tomb, the mausoleum of the second emperor Humayun of Mughal Empire, which was built in 1556. The fine architecture is a combination of Islamic and Hindu styles, in a reddish appearance.
Today's last stop is Jantar Mantar, the most important and best-preserved ancient astronomical observatory in India. It houses the largest stone sundial in the world.
When the Delhi 2 day tour comes to the end, our guide will send you back to your hotel or send you to the airport. Have a good time!
