Day 1: Arrival in Delhi, Airport pick-up
Welcome to join our 10 day India tour! When you arrive in Delhi, our representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel to check in. The rest of the day is free for you to have a good rest or explore the city first on your own.
Day 2: Old & New Delhi city tour
On the second day of this 10 day India trip, you will be guided to visit Raj Ghat and Jama Masjid in the morning. Raj Ghat is the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi, who led the Indian people fighting for independence. Jama Masjid is one of the three largest masjids in the world and the largest mosque in India. On the way to Chandni Chowk, have a photo stop at Red Fort, the red palace built with red sandstones over 500 years ago. Upon arrival at Chandni Chowk, we will arrange a rickshaw ride for you to better emerge into the locals' life.
In the afternoon, our representative will accompany you to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Humayun's tomb, Qutub Minar and India Gate. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is the largest Sikh holly place for worship in Delhi; Humayun's Tomb, as the name suggests, is the mausoleum of the emperor Humayun of Mughal Empire built in 1556 AD. Qutub Minar is a tapering tower built in 1193 AD to declare the triumph of Islamism in the city. India Gate is the landmark in Delhi, dividing Old Delhi from New Delhi. Today's sightseeing ends here. On the way to send you back to the hotel, drive pass some grand Government Secretarial Buildings, such as the Parliament House and President's House.
Day 3: Fly 1.5h from Delhi to Amritsar
In the morning, our representative will transfer you to the airport for flight to Amritsar. On arrival in Amritsar, our local representative will pick up and send you to hotel. After a short break, the representative will accompany you to the Attari-Wagah Border to see the border ceremony - "Lowering of the flags". This ceremony has been held every day by the armies of India and Pakistan, lasting for 50 years. The rest of the day is free.
Day 4: Amritsar city tour & Fly 1.5h from Amritsar to Jaipur
Have a city tour in Amritsar on the day. The first stop will be the Golden Temple, a sacred Sikh sanctuary completed in 1601 AD. In the Community Kitchen in Golden Temple, you can enjoy a delicious local vegetarian diet. Then walk for 5 minutes to reach Jallianwala Bagh, a beautiful garden as well as the site of Amritsar massacre in 1919. People built a monument later to commemorate the victims. We will also visit Ram Bagh Gardens, where there is a museum showing the life of the Sikh hero Ranjit Singh. If time permits, we will also take a heritage walk in the walled city.
After that, the representative will help you have a vehicle at disposal till departing to visit local markets to get a real feel of Sikh folks and have a local dinner. In the evening you will be transferred to airport to take the flight to Jaipur. As you arrive in Jaipur, our representative there will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.
Day 5: Jaipur full day tour with Amber Fort
In the pink city Jaipur, you will be led to visit Amber Fort on the hill at first. Amber Fort was the ancient palace of the seignior of Jaipur built in 1592 AD. Inside it, the Sheesh Mahal is famous for its dazzling glass walls. Then you will have a photo opportunity at Jal Mahal, a water palace located in the lake center. We will also visit Maharaja City Palace, a well-persevered pink palace as well as a museum collecting relics of ancient royal families; Jantar Mantar, an ancient observatory with the largest stone sundial in the world; Hawa Mahal (from the outside), a spectacular pink palace with 953 serried windows on the walls; and Birla Temple, a white Hindu temple dedicated to the Protector Vishnu (Narayan) and Goddess of Wealth Lakshmi.
Day 6: 5-hour drive from Jaipur to Abhaneri to Fatehpur Sikri to Agra
We will drive from Jaipur to Agra as our 10 day India tour moves on. On the way, stopover in Abhaneri and the driver will show you around Chand Baori, the grand step well with 13 floors and totally 3,500 steps. We will also make a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, an abandoned imperial city with not a few splendid architectures; to make sure you visit the world heritage better, we will arrange a tour guide here. Upon arrival in Agra, the driver will help you to check into the hotel.
Day 7: Agra highlights tour with Taj Mahal
Today, you will be guided to visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Taj Mahal is the imperial mausoleum of Shah Jahan's empress. It was completed in 1653 AD with high architectural and artistic achievements, and has been regarded as a wonder worldwide. Agra Fort is the Mughal imperial palace with red walls that is over 500 years old so far. Rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 8: Drive 3.5h from Agra to Delhi, & Fly 2h to Varanasi
In the morning, we will send you to Delhi airport by car, and help you board the plane to Varanasi, the next destination of the 10 day India tour. Upon landing in Varanasi, our local representative will pick you up and send you to the hotel. Rest of the day would be your leisure time.
Day 9: Varanasi sightseeing with Ganga Aarti Ceremony
Varanasi is the holly city of Hinduism, and the Ganges is the mother river of India. In the early morning, have a boat excursion on the river Ganges, then visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the highest-ranking Hindu temples with 3,500-year-old history. After this we will return back to hotel for breakfast.
Afternoon is left for your own arrangement. Later this afternoon the representative will accompany you to go for a walking in old Kashi, to stroll through the oldest markets and narrow and puzzled alleys, which will take you into a completely different world. Then watch the solemn Aarti Ceremony in the evening. The Hindu nocturnal sacrifice to Ganges River has been held every night on the riverside for hundreds of years, with the cadenced Hindu songs to purify souls.
Day 10: Fly 2h from Varanasi to Delhi & Departure from Delhi
On the last day of this India trip, we will go to Sarnath. It is the place where the Buddha came to understand the doctrines and enlightened his followers the first time. You can visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist temple and the Sarnath Museum.
Afterwards the representative will transfer you to airport to take flight back to Delhi. By the moment, our 10 day India tour package will come to the end. Hope you have a pleasant trip!
