Day 1: Arrival in Delhi, Airport pick-up
Welcome to Delhi! Our representative will meet you at Indira Gandhi International Airport, holding a welcome board with your name on it. After a warm greeting, we will escort you to your hotel in Delhi and help you check in. You can spend the rest day as you wish.
Day 2: Full day Old & New Delhi city tour
After breakfast, our golden triangle India tour starts with Raj Ghat - the tomb and memorial of Mahatma Gandhi - the father of India. Then we will visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India which allows 25,000 devotees to worship together. Driving by Red Fort, a massive rufous palace complex in Islamic style, we come across Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest markets in Delhi where you can buy all kinds of goods and food. You will enjoy an interesting rickshaw ride there.
Later, we will proceed to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a 17th-century Sikh pilgrimage center considered as one of the best. Next, we visit Humayun's tomb, the first architecture in Mughal style which was to inspire the design of the Taj Mahal. Then we go to Qutub Minar, a soaring five-storey minaret whose construction began in the 12th century. Today's golden triangle India itinerary ends with a visit to the India Gate. There you will see an enormous sandstone arch dedicated to the Indian soldiers who died in the First World War. On the way back to your hotel, we will drive by the Parliament House, President's House and other Government Secretarial Buildings.
Day 3: 5-6 hours' drive from Delhi to Jaipur with coffee break
Today we will transfer you from Delhi to Jaipur. Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will check into your hotel. For the rest of the day, you can explore Jaipur at leisure.
Day 4: Jaipur full day tour with Amber Fort
In today's golden triangle India itinerary, you will be accompanied on a visit to the Amber Fort, a majestic 16th-century fort combining Hindu and Mughal styles. After a photo stop at Jal Mahal, we continue to Maharaja City Palace, the first planned city of India in the middle age. Then we visit Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory famous for its world's biggest sundial. Next, we will head to Hawa Mahal, a summer palace built of pink sandstone featuring its honey-comb shaped façade, and leave you a photo stop there. Passing through the business centers of this city, we come to the last stop today - Birla Temple, a Hindu temple complex built of white marble and dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
Day 5: Drive 5h from Jaipur to Agra with stopover at Fatehpur Sikri
Today we will extend the golden triangle India tour to Agra by a comfortable drive. En route, we will stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri. It is an ancient town with over 400 years of history and also a popular UNESCO World heritage site. Then we will continue driving to Agra and check into the hotel. The remainder of today is free for you to explore Agra and the transport is at your own disposal within city area.
Day 6: Agra highlights tour with Taj Mahal
For today's guided India tour, we will set off at sunrise to get the best view of Taj Mahal - one of the Seven Wonders in the world, which is famous for the Islamic and Indian styled white marble building. Sitting picturesquely at the bank of Yamuna River, Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahān for his beloved wife. It is not only a splendid mausoleum complex giving the tourists a visual enjoyment, but also an eternal witness of a moving love story. Then follows a visit to the splendid red Agra Fort, a strong testimony to the splendor of the Mughal Empire. Mainly built of red sandstone, the massive Agra Fort, has a bright red facade bathed in sunlight. Its fusion of Parisian, Timurid and Hindu architectural elements is a vivid reflection of the amazing Mughal creativity. The rest day is free for your own exploration.
Taj Mahal: It is suggested to visit the Taj Mahal with light packs, for tripod, selfie stick and power bank are not allowed to take in. You could only take the camera with you in order to have a quick security check instead of queuing for bag checks.
Day 7: 3 hours' train ride from Agra to Jhansi, Drive 5h to Orchha to Khajuraho
Train: Bhopal Shatabdi, departing from Agra at 08:02 am & Arriving Jhansi at 10:45 am
Early this morning, you will be escorted to Agra's train station for your train to Jhansi, where our representative will meet you upon your arrival. We then take you to Khajuraho by a comfortable car. On the way, we will make a stop at Orchha for a leisurely walking tour. Strolling through the temples and palace complexes, you will feel the rich historical atmosphere in this ancient city. On arrival in Khajuraho, you will be assisted with your check in at your hotel.
Day 8: Khajuraho city tour, Drive 7h from Khajuraho to Allahabad
After breakfast, we will continue the golden triangle India tour package in Khajuraho. We will take you to Khajuraho Temple, an amazing complex filled with vivid erotic carvings and sculptures from the Chandela Dynasty (900 AD - 1050 AD).After the visits, your driver will take you to Allahabad and help you check in at your hotel.
Day 9: Allahabad sightseeing, Drive 3.5h to Varanasi by private car
This morning our guided India tour proceeds to Allahabad, famous for its Triveni Sangam, a holy confluence of the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswathi (dried up). We will ascend the eastern ramparts of the Allahabad Fort, a 16th-century of the Mughal Empire, and overlook the breathtaking scenery of Triveni Sangam. You can see pandas (priests) perform rites while Hindus bathe in Triveni Sangam in which they will wash away all their sins. We will also visit Hanuman Temple to see Lord Hanuman in a reclining position, and Anand Bhavan, a historic museum for Jawahar Lal Nehru. After today's tour we will drive you to Varanasi and help you to check in at the hotel.
Day 10: Varanasi full day sightseeing with Ganga Aarti Ceremony
In the early morning, our golden triangle India tour package takes you to board a boat and cruise on the River Ganges which is a holy river for Indian people. There you can see the famous cremation ghats like Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat. Then proceed to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a gold-plated temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva. After the visit we will drive back to hotel and have a breakfast break.
Early this afternoon is free for you to explore on your own. Later we will take a guided walking tour to the ancient alleys, a 400-year-old market and a splendid Mughal mosque in Varanasi. During the walk we will come across the temple of Lord Kaal Bhairao, the Kotwal (protector) of Varanasi. In the evening, we will watch the famous Aarti Ceremony, a Hindu rite performed near the Ganges with candles and lanterns.
Day 11: Fly 2h from Varanasi to Delhi & Departure from Delhi
The last visit of our 11 days escorted tours of India will be in Sarnath, a holy place for Buddhists and a famous archaeological site. In Sarnath we will visit the ruins, the Buddhist temple and stupa, as well as the Sanarth Museum (Closed on Friday) to learn the history of Buddhism.
When the tour is concluded, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon landing, you will connect with your homebound flight by yourself. We wish you a nice trip!
