Day 2: Lake Sevan Exploration
Today, you need to get up early in the morning. After breakfast, we will drive to the picturesque Lake Sevan. Surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, the lake processes the most astonishing beauty. The transparent blue water shines under the sunshine. Various waterfowls gather and hover around. Fishermen’s boats drift on the lake and several antique monasteries stand on its banks. On one of the peninsulas, there is the famous Sevanavank Monastery, after which Lake Sevan was named. Then we will drive to Dilijan to enjoy today’s lunch and take a Gata making master class. Gata is a traditional Armenia dessert. Its soft filling is wrapped by the crisp crust. The sweet flavor makes it a good match to both tea and coffee. Here you will enjoy the Gata made on your own hand. After the class, you guide will show you around Dilijan, a spring town reputed as “little Switzerland”. Next, we will go to Haghartsin Monastery, which consists of 3 churches and shows both natural and artificial beauty. Then visit Goshavank Monastery and Lake Parz. After the tour, you will be driven back to the hotel.

Visitors need to use both their hands and feet to climb down to the bottom. The dungeon is dark and moist. It is in this environment that Saint Gregory the Illuminator lived for 13 years. Then after driving for about 1.5 hours southeastwards, we will reach Noravank Monastery. Located on a brick-red cliff, the monastery attracts numerous travelers by its splendid view. On the way back to Yerevan, you will have a chance to pay a visit to “Hin Areni” wine factory. The vine was made by the Areni grapes and Voskehat grapes planted in the nearby vineyards. In the harvest season, you could see the grapes in dark purple and light green. During the tour you could also taste different kinds of wine.
