Welcome to Bangkok! At 08:00 a.m., your private guide will pick you up from your hotel in central city, and transfer you to Samut Songkhram by car. Located about 72 km from Bangkok, Samut Songkhram is the smallest province in Thailand with abundant natural resources.
The first stop of our Bangkok floating market tour is Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub), a local wet market sitting along the railway tracks. You may have already been several different Asian markets for exotic shopping. But strolling through a market in a narrow lane with a railway track in the middle will be definitely an unusual experience. You will see local vendors selling various seafood and vegetables and tropical fruit at the both sides of the track. When the train, which is eight shift a day, slowly passes by, the vendors deftly shift their wares and then put them back.
Next, we will head to the Kha Floating Market (or Ladplee Floating Market if Kha is closed), a local floating market sitting nearby a coconut plantation and the highlight of our floating market Bangkok tour. It is a tranquil market which is more authentic than others as it has not been discovered by many tourists. You will see locals selling various kinds of fruit, spices and Thai snacks on the boat. You could try some local food as your Lunch.
After that, your guide will take you to a local family for a close touch with the real local life. The hospitable host will make you feel like home. After saying goodbye to the cordial host, we will continue to the Wat Bang Kung, an over 200-year-old local Buddhist templet built in a giant tree with a history of more than 400 years. Embraced by the tree trunks, the temple looks more mysterious and holier. The temple is popular with both tourists and locals as it is reputedly efficacious to make wishes here.
Friendly reminder: To show respect to the deities, one should wear clothes that cover the shoulders and knees and take off the shoes when visit Wat Bang Kung.
Afterwards, we will venture into the King Rama II Memorial Park, which houses lots of ancient collections like ancient books and other articles from the 19th century. Coming out from the museum, we will proceed to a pottery village close-by to have a glimpse at the hundreds of potteries in Thai style.
