In the early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Agra and drive to Taj Mahal, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In order to have a perfect experience, we suggest you have a good sleep before the trip and get up early today before sunrise.
When arrive at Taj Mahal, we will meet our experienced local guide and start our journey of this marvelous marble mausoleum. With the romantic golden sunrise, we'll feel the splendid art of this majestic architecture and the deep love between the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his favorite wife, the Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a must-go place in India. It's recommended to take photos here.
If you like, we will drive you back to your hotel for a late breakfast. Then we'll head to Agra Fort, one of the three most famous Indian red castles. It is constructed of red sandstone, which makes it look dazzling red in the sunlight. It was commissioned by the Great Mughal Emperor "Akbar" and has a mixed style of India and central Asia. It is the finest examples of Muslim architecture. Wandering in the castle, we may feel like we are walking in the old India road. We'll have an unforgettable experience of Muslim civilization by lingering over this old castle.
Getting out of the old red castle, we'll proceed to the latticed stone tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, which is also called Baby Taj, an exquisite marble mausoleum decorated with gems. Itimad-ud-Daulah is a concubine of Moghul Empire's forth emperor. This tomb was commissioned by her for her parents.
Later, we'll stop at the Great Emperor Akbar's tomb, which is mainly constructed of red sandstone and has a mixed style of Moslem and Hinduism. Akbar was the third and one of the wisest emperors of Moghul Empire. This tomb was designed and commissioned by his son, completed in 1613.
As dusk falls, we'll head to Mehtab Bagh, a botanical garden facing to Taj Mahal. Strolling alongside the river, we enjoy the peaceful sunset views of Taj Mahal as the guide relates legends and stories about this 17th-century Indian mausoleum. The mystery and harmony of the old Muslim culture accompanies us till the end of the Agra day tour.
With the soft sunset and gentle touch of the riverside, the Agra day tour package ends at Mehtab Bagh in the twilight. We hope you have a happy and satisfying journey with us today.
