Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
After receiving your luggage and passing through customs at Beijing Airport, you will meet our local guide and experienced driver at the Arrival Hall. After a warm welcome, our driver will accompany you to the hotel by a private vehicle and help you check-in.

Day 2: Beijing
Today our 8 days Beijing Xi'an Shanghai tour officially begins. After a short review of the itinerary, we will head to the first stop - Tiananmen Square. It’s the biggest city square in the world and a historical site that witnessed many of big events of China's contemporary revolution. From there, we will step into the Forbidden City, which ranks among the world’s 5 great palaces complexes, where you can explore more than seventy palaces and see how the emperors in Qing and Ming dynasties (1368-1912) worked and lived. After that an a la carte welcome lunch featuring Peking roast duck is prepared for you at an excellent restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will go to the 600-year old Temple of Heaven. It served as a worship site where emperors from the Qing and Ming dynasties prayed for good harvests each year. Later, we will draw a perfect end to the day with a Chinese Kung Fu Show.

Day 3: Beijing
In the morning, we will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall. There is a saying that, among all the sections of the Great Wall, Mutianyu outshines all the others in beauty. Therefore, not only will you experience the magnificence of Great Wall but you will also immerse yourself in its beautiful seasonal scenery. Also a round-trip cable car up to the wall will be arranged for you, to make your visit more enjoyable. Finally, a toast with red wine prepared by us will make the moment on the wall more memorable.

Then we will spend some time at a nearby local market before going back to hotel.

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an
Today we will go to the Summer Palace first. With ornate constructions and splendid landscapes, it is the largest royal garden existing in China. Later we will drive by the Olympic National Stadium, also called the Bird’s Nest, a famous landmark building in Beijing built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Here you can see this marvelous building and take some unforgettable photos at a distance.

After an a la carte lunch, we will move to Beijing Hutongs and travel through the back alleys by rickshaw. You will be impressed by the vibrant daily life in the Hutong and get a glimpse of traditional Beijing culture. Later a Chinese Paper Cutting lesson will give you a deeper understanding to this Chinese traditional folk art and you may try to cut one by yourself. Then our guide will send you to Beijing Airport to catch the flight leaving for Xi’an. When you get there, our local guide will pick you up and escort you to your hotel.

Day 5: Xi'an
Your 8 days China tour in Xi’an begins with one of the eight wonders in the world - the Terracotta Amy. It was built under the command of Emperor Qin Shi Huang who united six ancient kingdoms into one and wanted to keep his powerful troops with him after his death. The vivid sculptures including his soldiers, horses, weapons and chariots will make his troop come alive before your very eyes.

Later we will invite you to a local family where you will enjoy a home-cooked lunch and have a lot fun. After lunch we will head to the Xi’an Museum and also the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a heritage of the ancient Buddhist establishment during the ancient Tang dynasty. In the evening, a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show will be arranged and you will enjoy a dumpling dinner during the show.

Friendly Tips:
As the theater is usually not open in Jan, Feb, Mar and Dec, we will not arrange the show and dumpling dinner for tours during the periods. Guests will enjoy free time to relax.

Day 6: Xi'an - Shanghai
The tour today begins with the City Wall Park, a good place for you to observe the ordinary life of Xi'an dwellers. There, we will invite a master to teach you some Tai Chi moves. Then we will climb the Xi’an City Wall, one of the most complete ancient defending systems in China. After an a la carte lunch featuring delicious local food, our Xi’an guide will transfer you to airport for your flight to Shanghai. When you arrive at Shanghai Airport, our Shanghai guide will pick you up and send you to your hotel.

Day 7: Shanghai
In the morning, we will have a visit to Shanghai Museum, a huge ancient art museum with marvelous Chinese bronze wares, china wares, calligraphies and paintings. Then we will stop at Yu Garden, a classical garden in the South China-style built 400 years ago. There is also a traditional marketplace called Yuyuan Bazaar near it.

At noon we will offer you an a la carte farewell lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will go to the Former French Concession, one of the four French Concessions remaining in contemporary China and the earliest and most prosperous one. Then we will walk around the Bund area and enjoy a cruise on Huangpu River. Pretty scenes on both sides of the river will appear before your eyes. After that we will return to your hotel.

Day 8: Departure from Shanghai
After breakfast, you can spend some leisurely time on your own. Please finish the hotel check-out procedure before 12:00. You may need to call a taxi at hotel reception in advance and get to the airport by yourself.
